Why I mostly eat meat.

I just feel better, that's all. On most days, I eat about a pound of ground beef grilled with some cheese, and a lot of fruit—things like oranges, pineapple, bananas, strawberries, etc. If I'm feeling a bit rich, I'll treat myself to some fresh sushi. Everything I eat comes from whole foods and is as organic and natural as possible, with little to no added sugar. I only drink water—no alcohol, soda, or caffeine.

I tried eating heavier pasta meals, but I just felt awful afterward. The same goes for vegetables. Most of my meals are low in grains and added sugar, and I even feel sluggish after eating eggs.

How about you guys? Do you mostly stick to meat in your meals?

Where do you source your meat that is "as organic and natural as possible"?

Whatever works for you! We've got too many free range chickens, so I eat a lot of grass(or anything else they find appetizing) fed eggs.
If you were a brick layer or roofer, I think you'd have to eat more calories and probably get into more carbs, but most of us don't do any real energy burning work, so a diet like yours works well.

Everyone is different. No one diet fits all.

I eat meat, eggs, some vegetables as they don't do well with me. OK with breads in moderation. Try to avoid white bread so we bake a lot of our own.

My daughter has gone to eating mostly meat and eggs and avoiding bread. It has made a world of difference for her.

I agree on the meat. Fills me up causes no bloating or weight gain. And my cholesterol stays nice and low. The best is organic of course. We always mix it up. We have freezer locker beef, pork, chicken, fish and other meats like lamb and wild game. Tonight is fresh King Salmon not frozen though.

I actually do my absolute best on meat and greens. I have no real use for grains although organic flour sour dough type breads call my name

As noted by @Zee09 I have a fruit addiction spring and summer. I grew up with an abundance of fruits and fruit pies. I am currently addressing this concern with portion control.

My body is terrible on cheap flours and flour products, beans and most all potatoes. Sweet potatoes cause extended blood sugar spikes for me. Go figure. But our home grown potatoes don’t cause any problems nor weight gain with reasonable quantities.

This is not diet advice. Agree everyone is different. I truly believe in mixing up something different to keep my colon active.

It is also good to have foods for gut biome. I try to make varied kraut year around can be difficult in the summer.

I do mostly keto. Eggs/bacon for breakfast, protein shake for lunch, almonds/cheese for snack and a good dinner of chicken/pork/beef and cruciferous vegetables. My cheats are keto flour pancakes or keto buns and hotdogs/hamburgers. Lots of water, coffee in the morning with butter/mct oil and unsweetened tea. I feel better than I have in years past.

In the OP:
Capitalization of "whole foods" would have helped. I interpreted "whole" as less/non processed.

Does blackberry whiskey count? I'm imbibing a small amount now while taking in historic breaking news this Saturday night, June 21, 2025.

I was just being a smart aleck. I have no idea if he actually meant Whole Foods the store or like you said, whole foods. :ROFLMAO:

Consuming a pound of ground beef every day is a sure way to an early grave but you will be happy getting there.. There are much better ways to get protein in the diet.

Some, as I love to bbq but theres a reason the Okinawans and Japanese routinely live longer lives than Americans. They eat less red meat and alot more vegetables. Plus walk more.Lots of red red meat or a high protein diet is hard on your kidneys. Unfortunately humans weren't built to eat a high meat diet like felines

Okay, now I have to clarify. I meant the grocery store, Whole Foods, in my post. I get most of my meat from there. Occasionally, I will get some ground beef and steaks from a local farm near me that has grass-fed, organic cows.

Could you share with us with the best ways to get protein in our diets.
I'd love to know also. Of the three macronutrients, my deficit is most certainly protein. I get plenty of fats and carbohydrates but my ratios are screwed up. I don't think the average American diet is very nutritious.
