94 FXSTC, total Re-build (top and bottom) 5000 miles ago. SE Heads and EV27 cam.
Gonna change from HD 20-50 in another 1000 miles to Lucas syn. 20-50. in the crank. Change every 10K with a filter at 5000.
Still using HD Formula+, change @ 7500
Bel-Ray 80W-90 in the Tranny every 5000

See the third and fourth lines of my signature file...

I don't see the Wing getting anything else. The MCF is better than Mobil 1 by far.

After trying many different oils (and sampling them all) in my 94 Kawasaki ZX-11, I have settled on MCF 10W-40. It gave me darn good wear numbers, felt good, and I feel confident Amsoil took their reformualtion seriously. I like Redline (auto, haven't tried their MC oil) because it shifted awesome and even gave me improved gas mileage, but, whether or not it makes a difference, I feel a bit more confident having a motorcycle specific oil.

Been using the good ol' AMO 10W-40 in the ZX-11D for about 4 years now & just changed to this from my stash in the Valkyrie Interstate. However...

Now I just may have to go out & actually BUY

some more oil: just purchased a 1970 Honda CT90 Trail (w/b the Wife's 1st bike

) with 1,760 miles: it takes a WHOPPING 1.9 PINTS, but you have to clean the oil screen every 1,500 miles, or so...

8-speed automatic clutch tranny, too!

Cheers!

I have been using the 10W-40 motorcycle oil for the last 4 years in my 86 Honda Nighthawk, it now has the MCF in it along with Series 2000 75W-90 gearlube in the final drive. Shifting is much improved over previous oil/gearlube, used to occasionally miss shifts but that doesn't happen anymore & I've been riding this bike since new so I'd say it is the lube.

has your milage changed at all?

Just to add some 2-stroke flavor:
2000 KDX 200
Interceptor pre-mix
DEO 15w-40 in the tranny

I can't believe how good the piston looks after 100 hours or so!

Cool pipes! I was fortunate to ride a Screaming Eagle V-rod a few weeks ago...man...nothing at all like the "usual" Harley: it really wakes up over 5000 rpms! I'd get hurt on it for sure. Oh, also very different is the feeling that there is no bike in front of me...with a full-faced helmet, I really had to tilt my head down to see anything that was Motorcycle. Very different, indeed. Enjoy your bike!

I had been running 15w40 Amsoil for 15 or 20,000 mile coming off 5w40 Rotella SYN in the first several thousand mile on my VFR, I noted better shifting with the AMsoil.

It was until I decided to try the 15w40 Rotella recently, Very notchy as you described from day 1, but usuable if you have to.

after 1500 mile enough was enough though

It went up by a couple mpg over what I was getting before with the dino, didn't notice a difference between the old & new formulation AMF-MCF other than maybe a little better shifting. Prior to the amsoil I was using golden spectro & honda GN oil & regular valvoline 80W-90 gear lube in the rear diff. Checked the rear diff after a ride & had foaming so went to mobile 1 synthetic then discovered amsoil & have been running it since. Pulling the fill plug with the mobile 1 & amsoil neither one foams but the amsoil runs cooler when I checked temps with the IR gun so that decided it.

Been running MCF 10W-40 in all my bikes for many years even in my track day bikes that see 16000 rpm redline quite often.

Works well for me and internals look good when doing tear downs.

I ride a 2003 Ultra Classic. I run the (TSO)20W 50 Series 2000 Racing oil in the engine and primary and severe gear 75W 90 in the trans. I use the eao oil filter. The engine has 48,000 miles on it and I change the oil & filter once a year. At 42000 miles I changed the factory cams to gear driven S & S 510's. The factory cams and bearings were very clean and in like new condition. I was impressed.

I have a 79 FXS Harley. I use 60wt Amsoil in summer and Amv 20/50 in winter. As soon as I run out of it I will try the new MCF. Before I was using HD oils. I found since I switched, that my oil runs cooler and oil consumption has gone down. This comes in handy on long trips. Also when I changed over I had to turn the idle down , as the motor seems to turn easier.
I also use the svg 75/90 in the tranny.
