Which used car choice you would pick?

Of the ones you mentioned, the Honda is probly best...

It's Honda CPO, so it has an extended warranty until 100k. Should already be reconditioned.
And the prices are of course, very negotiable, since it is an used car.

Exactly who in their right mind pays 16K for a car with 80K miles, that is nuts.
I would shop new, with rebates and low interest you can do better.
Think of it this way. Assume 150K life, would you pay 36K for a Honda Van when you can get a real nice car for that kind of cash.
Anything with 80K miles is at most a 8000 car to me max. I picked up a PT GT ragtop with every option with 40K miles for 10K$.
Deals are out there on new cars just dont get fixed on one make.

I know it sounds crazy. All new van prices start around $24K. I think I can get new Kia for 21k+tax for the lowest trim but we'd like to get more options. Those higher trims start around $26K for Dodge/Chrysler, and 30K for honda/toyota. I can save at least 10K for getting used one.

Seems like there's something wrong w/ that Honda. That should be a $19k car if it's story-free. How long has it been for sale?

07 ody transmission is pretty much the same as the ridgeline- beefed up transmission. I have an late 04 model with the originaly trannt with the internal fixes and i have 180k with nothing but routine fluid changes at 30k intervals. I would go with the ody.
I'd pick new. No choice. Hunda has too many miles.
And that is why you hear so many people locked in on a 2nd hand car with issues and which they paid too much and have buyers remorse. To me once a car gets over 75K miles you really have to get a screamin price to buy it. Too many potential isses which creap up and already almost into the new hoses, belts, brakes, suspension etc.
I bet a new one can be had with 0% interest and rebates with about the same payment or if cash buyer you can do better.

Plus it comes with zero warranty.
Even though you really want a minivan you might want to consider a good used Expedition or Tahoe...Since your only going to drive it 7K miles a year gas consumption should not be a big issue...They are awesome in really bad weather.

None of the above. Having been a 2 time Odyssey owner (2000EX and 2006 EXL), I can tell you that 80K is the time that things start to go on them. The 2000 (@79K) started having transmission problems and on the EX on up, the sliding rear doors are motor driven (started having problems with that too.) The motors for those new in 2006 would have cost my father-in-law $600 each (with his dealer discount.) Between those two issues and the fact that it was due for an exhaust and close to its second set of tires (if you get 45K on ANY brand of tire you are doing well--check the Odyssey forums) we traded it. When our 2006 hits 80K, it will be gone too. Honda makes a good van and I have found it to be a great value when purchased new but when one hits the 80-100K plateau, you better be prepared to put some stout cash in it or get rid of it. It would be highly likely that that is the situation that the previous owners faced and the reason they unloaded it.
