Which USA based oil company to go with?

These folks. Even I heard of them as it’s what dad used in his stuff.

I've yet to try HPL (I know, shocker right? I have been back for almost a week), but am a big fan of Mobil1 and Amsoil. And for the last few years very lazy. I like scrolling through the Amsoil site, picking my oil sand filters and now other shop supplies from my couch. Seriously.

Thats not nice  . I think 35 years of using a product does show that "they have a clue".
The OP has an Outback, Charger, and a Rav - wants to go 5k with an oil from an US company. One guy recommends M1 EP +couple dozen agree - but to one he's clueless ...
I agree with you ...

Even people that have been using Lucas for 35 years?
Well, if lucas oil (not the snake oil) performed for 35 years with no lubricant related failures, I would say it is good to go. It would not be my choice however. He was talking about M1 though.

slipped my mind,,Cenex brand owned by CHS, (farmer owned), their engine oils far as i know are formulated and blended in three lubricant blending (Cenex) plants likely around USA,, their greases however are made by Axel Christiernsson ,,the engine oils lubricants gasoline and diesel, fuels etc they offer are pretty good stuff far as I can tell.

another company is Brad/Penn,,,, DA-lubricant company in Lebanon Ind. has Penn Grade 1 engine oil,,they may also formulate the K&N engine oil ??? also someone on this site may have more info on them.

I don’t know anything about torco
Schaeffer
HPL
Amsoil
Torco
Royal Purple ( HPS )

I've used all of these American companies with no issues. Pick one,and see how it goes! 👍

I’m running schaeffers in 2 cars and HPL in another. I scored a couple of cases of hpl 5-20 for the cars running Schaeffers, for cheap. Once the weather warms, that’s what they’ll get.
I’m jumping off the HPL train. At least in the car that’s under warranty. For what it cost, how long I’ll run it and not having any OFFICIAL api certifications, it just doesn’t make any sense. I get in their neck of the woods once in awhile, so I may stop in and grab a case at some point. Torco, I’ve heard of, but it’s hpl money and doesn’t seem easy to get. Hps seems like the best deal of all tbh.

I'd forgotten about them, too. I've always been confused about their ownership, though. They're super forward about claiming they're a cooperative, but they're a publicly-traded company (NASDAQ listing) in the top quintile of the Fortune 500 list.
