Which oils are exceptional to you?

Notice that all the oils I listed have a low KV for their HTHS rating aswell. We're on the same page, or very close...

Something with Castrol's "UMA", or the later generation that goes into edge for sure...I'm using 5W30 A3/B3 as that gives the best all round HTHS without uber high KV100s and the like, which I FEEL is better.

There are probably more oils we can't get than you can, and far cheaper, being further away from where oil is made than most countries. Castrol is failry cheap here, but top end oils also fetch top end prices. I'm used to shopping at the supermarket only looking at the bottom shelves....so don't look up at the top shelves for oil either. There is usually something very, very good for a pretty good price.
We no longer get BP oils in NZ, maybe BP is supplying us with Castrol oils across a broader price range.

Penrite 50w70 but more because of the fact that anybody would use that in an engine with out clearances of half an inch, although i posted a thread and one person said they used this in their Mk2 Ford Escort which would have been specced for 10w40 to 20w50, in order to control massive oil burning

I did 2 used oil analysis resulting high iron, silcon and tin in consultation with the Perth Redline distributor in 1999/2000. The Redline distributor actually paid for the 2nd UOA however he never gave me the results of the 10w-40 compared to the 10w30.
After repeated calls which were never returned I gave up and switched back to Mobil 1 5w-50 after which I ended up with minor oils weeps around various parts of the engine. The engine never weeped any oil prior to the Redline.
It is assumed that the high esters in the REDLINE OVERSWELLED the engine seals and these never recovered when I used the Mobil 1.
The Redline Oil in those days was $14/ L AUD trade compared to $28 /L AUD now days Trade.
It was not a pleasant experience. Expensive lesson as the Mobil 1 oil was only $8 / L AUD.
Shell Helix 5w30 HX8 is my preferred or Shell Helix Ultra 5w-40.
