MPT30K is close... http://www.mptindustries.com/msds/MSDSThirty-KMotorOil.pdf

Yes, and I have spoken in person to the owner/blender of that company, and he is VERY forthcoming with his basestocks/add packs (unlike the 'major' boutiques).

I did not mention MPT because most on here TOTALLY dissed his products for being so low on VI when I brought them up in previuos posts.

I'm curious as to how their new 'ESTER Core' 300v basestock (as in their soon to be released in N.A., 0W-40 300V) differs from their old 'Di-Ester' stuff, if at all?

personally, I'm in favor of their approach, as the high VI requires HIGH VII which implies lowered lubricity and higher NOACK/insolubles/possible sludge/varnish/deposits etc... but what do I know, lol! anyway my OCI doesn't allow the coin for that oil, a 1 qt shot of redline per OCI is all the boutique I can afford, lol! current fill is just over $5/qt... ~5K OCI expected

Interestingly enough, the current blend in my sump (in sig) actually does seem to tamp down the initial cold piston slap some, over the RL 0W-30 I had in there for the winter OCI.

But of course that could be due to the higher HTHS of this blend, along with the 90*F+ ambients we have for even early morning starts currently.

The real test of very high ester basestocks dampening piston slap noise will be when I try the new 300V 0W-40 mixed with the old 300v 0W-20 ->(unless they release this weight in the new basestock as well).

I agree. MPT is a serious new player in the small world of esters, but they're being dismissed soley on the basis of VI? Has anyone even seen a single UOA using this product? I bet they haven't.

dave at red line told me quote red line has a tad of pao in it.... dave tells me more then others since we have friends with my friends at 3r automotive they build kpax racing cars for scca...

friendly? oreilys ordered me a case of the lubegard heavy duty and they sell it for 21.00 too. he keeps the case in back for me.
