I run that NO VII 5W30 down to -25F in my vehicle without issue reason because it meets the spec for it's why it has the Winter rating for it.At -15F you want an oil with a 5W rating.

What weight?the good old regular PCEO is Dexos 1 gen II. i just posted a UOA from a 5.3L LT silverado over 11.7k miles. results are stellar with the engine showing extremely low wear.
That has to be a misprintThe Euro 5w20 looks like a good option with a HT/HS of 3.267.
That looks great!!!
Did you miss the other thread where somebody questioned HPL’s integrity? That has to be a misprint
just get plain old PCEO and run 15k or so. with how this result came out, if it were my personal vehicle i’d probably run it for two consecutive OLM resets. important to note that it did require 1 quart makeup over that 11.7K miles. That looks great!!!
I’ll give it a go. Thanks for the help!just get plain old PCEO and run 15k or so.
Just questioning since the Euro 10W-20 is much lower and the PCMO 5W-20 and PCMO 10W-20 are nearly the same.Did you miss the other thread where somebody questioned HPL’s integrity?
The specs are legit, you can put money on that.
“Lower” “nearly the same” for which parameter?Just questioning since the Euro 10W-20 is much lower and the PCMO 5W-20 and PCMO 10W-20 are nearly the same.
Different base oils.Just questioning since the Euro 10W-20 is much lower and the PCMO 5W-20 and PCMO 10W-20 are nearly the same.
Yes thats an appropriate temperature for an oil with a 5W rating.I run that NO VII 5W30 down to -25F in my vehicle without issue reason because it meets the spec for it's why it has the Winter rating for it.

Wow, Astro, 5 Volvos! That's what I call brand loyalty. I'm impressed!!!@rwn - Until we get a definitive answer from the good folks at HPL - here is the post that implies you’re good with the entire PCMO line. They all meet D1G3.

So, if there is a PCMO of theirs that you like in 0W20, you can choose that one on the basis of the MRV numbers.
Also, this car is running on 0W40 HPL Supercar in the mountains of CO. Best of both worlds - great low temp cranking, great HTHS when the turbo is spooled getting up the mountain.

The other guy had to call and apologize….I don't believe it either, with that viscosity index, kv100 and density it can't be 3.2+. 2.7ish will be the ballpark
One for each member of the family. Volvo should put us in their advertising!Wow, Astro, 5 Volvos! That's what I call brand loyalty. I'm impressed!!!
Quoted for posterityI don't believe it either, with that viscosity index, kv100 and density it can't be 3.2+. 2.7ish will be the ballpark
