which fuel cleaner works best?

Up here Regane costs more than Redline! Regane is $12.99 (or $14.99 for the high mileage 2x version) and Redline is $10.99.

You can call the Gumout customer service center and ask them about the percentage. It is stated at 50% PEA (for the Regane Complete Fuel system Cleaner...I'm not sure why they don't simply print it on their product.

What we really need is the equivalent of PEA either in grams or in ml. That is the only way to compare. Anything else just marketeering.

It certainly would be helpful to know the exact measurement but I'm satisfied with the percentage of content in the bottle actually for most consumers this method is easier to understand.

NO, MMO has NO PEA in it.

Problem with MSDS is that it NOT designed to tell you the precise PEA percentage in the bottle. It is designed for the doctors to decide upon the remedy in case you get poisoned from the bottle. Most MSDS gives vague percentage if they do mention PEA. The bottle sizes vary between different cleaners. For example, Techron is sold in 12Oz and 20Oz bottles but Redline is sold in a smaller bottle. When percentages are measured as between 20 & 40 percent, you have lot of variations.

I wouldn't return the Redline and waste all that shipping money and hassle. Redline SI-1 is good stuff. When it runs out look around for a better value.

Regane is usually the best in PEA per dollar because it goes on sale the most. I have many bottles of PEA based gas additives but when Menard's puts it on sale for $3.17 I am compelled to buy two more.

I personally like Chevron Techron Complete Fuel System Cleaner as it cleans everything up very well including the combustion chamber. Of course, I use Chevron Techron Plus (89 grade) over the recommended 87 grade, so maybe that make an significant difference for my 2003 Hyundai Elantra.

If the problem is deposits, yes, Techron Concentrate Plus has been been known to work for some people. It won't fix a shorted, or a bad connection to the sending unit, or other mechanical/electrical problem.

I've had MMO free up a float in a gas tank in an old Ford I had. I've heard as mentioned above Techron has done it as well. You have nothing to lose.

1. "UNSURPASSED", legally meaning that no other product on the market has better cleaning capability... this is based on yearly testing they do.
2. The "plus" was added several years ago and IN FACT is a chemical added to fix problem fuel sending units... if the sending unit has been faulty for long time, it might not fix, but in general it is designed to restore and protect fuel sending units.

Chevron also sell PRO-GUARD FUEL INJECTOR CLEANER... it is designed and marketed to clean injectors only... it has less detergent and cost less... great injector cleaner, probably best on market, but probably will not do much on intake valves and combustion chambers.

The Honda is loving the Chevron Pro-Gard . Real noticeable difference in throttle response. I'm quite surprised actually. Unless it's from the WaWa gas I'm using, which is not top tier at all. LOL.

When it comes to the science behind the product (chevron total fuel system cleaner) it is definitely the PEA detergent (50%) of bottle volume, that is doing a great job removing the carbon from the intake system, and fuel injectors.

I also wonder if "Shock Treatment" (whole 32oz. Bottle of MMO on Low Tank) will accomplish the same
