Cats probably won't last as long if there is oil consumption with any oil. Think about it.quote:

PCMO? The one with the better base stocks. Additive levels continue to drop.

I just ran Delo 15w-40 in my Honda accord with 125,000 to clean up after an auto-rx double treatment. I failed to see any cleaning with this stuff after 3000 miles. It is now on Mobil 1 10w-30 and the difference is quite noticable. Much smoother and quiet with Mobil 1. I am somewhat disappointed with the Delos cleanning ability. Auto-rx is the only way I have found to clean an engine to my satisfaction. Oil lubricates auto-rx cleans.
The marketing behind Drive Clean is silly. There's nothing "cleaner" about this oil vs any other respectable dino. In fact Drive Clean only made consumption worse in several cars here.quote:

does the weight of oil help facilitate its cleaning ability and should this be taken into account in regard to the question of which oil will clean best, especially a specific engine? I seem to remember that thinner oil has properties that allow it to do a better job cleaning but I can't remember why.quote:
[bowdown] Well said. My theory is that motor oils can maintain a level of cleanliness, but they are not designed to clean significantly.
we've argued this before to no avail. Bye. [Big Grin]
