An HDEO Mixed fleet oil. But although the engine may be clean the Cats may not last as long if you have consumption.

PCMO? The one with the better base stocks. Additive levels continue to drop.

Cats probably won't last as long if there is oil consumption with any oil. Think about it.

For cleanliness I just say use Lube Control at recomended dosages regularly and the engine should stay nice and tidy. Two birds.. ZBut the questioon was simple out of the bottle oil. Delo

The SMs are now made to help more... but they're not in Delo's league. The closest one (regular oil) may be Mobil Drive Clean 5000. However, you can contact the makers of Delo/Delvac & Rotella & find the nearest distributors to their single-bottle HDEO 10W-30s.

I would go that route if you wanted a thinner cleaner in your bottle of oil.

I just ran Delo 15w-40 in my Honda accord with 125,000 to clean up after an auto-rx double treatment. I failed to see any cleaning with this stuff after 3000 miles. It is now on Mobil 1 10w-30 and the difference is quite noticable. Much smoother and quiet with Mobil 1. I am somewhat disappointed with the Delos cleanning ability. Auto-rx is the only way I have found to clean an engine to my satisfaction. Oil lubricates auto-rx cleans.

Well said. My theory is that motor oils can maintain a level of cleanliness, but they are not designed to clean significantly.

we've argued this before to no avail. Bye.

A modern oil like CONOCO/PHILLIPS "Hydroclear" with LC20. Engine should first be treated with ARX, and FP60 should be used in fuel.

"Cleanliness" is also highly dependent on mechanical and electrical condition. All systems should be optimal.

The marketing behind Drive Clean is silly. There's nothing "cleaner" about this oil vs any other respectable dino. In fact Drive Clean only made consumption worse in several cars here.

does the weight of oil help facilitate its cleaning ability and should this be taken into account in regard to the question of which oil will clean best, especially a specific engine? I seem to remember that thinner oil has properties that allow it to do a better job cleaning but I can't remember why.

Are HDEO's designed to actually clean or just to stay clean longer?

Why do people assume thaqt Mobil Drive CLean is going to keep the engine clean? It is just a name not a charteristic of the oil itself. Like someone is going to name an oil sludge fest in a bottle.

I forgot, you can even use Supertech dino, just change the oil and filter often.

Pretty easy and cheap on a Corolla.
