Acid! You don't want acidic oil in your sump over a long winter. It is best to change the oil before long term storage...get the acid out and off the internal parts before parking the bike.

What acid? Give us some idea of how much acid will develop in an engine crankcase in a matter of six months or less. How much will develop? How long will it take to accumulate to be a concern? How will it materialize? Where will it go? Where will it get oxygen to oxidize?

This one waaaaaay overblown problem that doesn't exist in any significant degree. Do some research regarding storage of engines and the development of acid in reasonably maintained engines stored with reasonable quality oil in it. Show us what you find.
