I was shopping for motor oil this afternoon and I noticed something weird. The jugs of regular Mobil 1 (all weights)were in their usual prime space just like normal. I did notice that the price for a five quart jug had gone from $21 up to $23 and change. I just figured that it was a typical price increase. The EP was still $28 as far as I remember. The funny thing was that I walked down the oil aisle, hung a left, and there was another shelf display of regular Mobil 1 priced at $21. Anybody else encounter this situation at their Wal Mart?

A lot of times they don't accurately tag the price all of their shelves that they stock their motor oil on. If you walk down one aisle, it'll be price A, but when you get to the display shelf on the end of the aisle, it'll be price B. It's one price on both, but they failed to accurately mark all of their oils one price. I've noticed this on Pennzoil products in the Wal-Marts I go to. What I usually do is note the lower price and if it rings up higher at the register, I get them to do a price check and correct it.

They do have those scanners for you to check the price of anything in the store. I use it all the time because those [censored] employees suck at labeling.

See this all the time. The rollback oil will be showing its normal price on its normal shelf, while the new display will show the new rollback price.

If they have it advertised at a lower price, they will honor it. That being said, I try not to shop there.
