Whats so great about Jeeps?

Some people love to work on cars. Jeeps even stock break constantly so you always have something to fix. Some people want their vehicles to break their spines when hitting road bumps and boy do Jeeps deliver in that capacity. Some people hate having money and if you spend the outlandish price on a new Jeep and all the money on repairs you will never have money.

So long story short I have no idea they are terrible in every possible way a vehicle can be.

Just curious, which ones have you owned??

We've owned several over 25 years and, are they Honda/Toyota painless? No, not even close but aside from one terrible one, they weren't that bad. That said, it was a 2008 Grand Cherokee that sold me on Range Rovers, as I figured if I was going to deal with the pain, I might as well get what I really wanted

Is that the vehicle or some of the drivers that these appeal to?? My first one, a manual TJ, was truly excellent in the snow however I had appropriate tires and (mostly) know what I am doing driving wise.

I haven't had the current one in the snow and probably won't, but I cannot see them being any worse than the older ones vehicle wise.

They are dynamically challenged, and quick feet are desirable in snow. Yes, they move forward good, but that is about it. For tge same reason I prefer BMW or Tiguan in snow over Sequoia.
But yes, it is amplified by drivers who think off road capabilities translate into snow capabilities.

I’ve owned a number of 4x4 vehicles. The best I ever had in snow was a 2.2L Subaru Legacy wagon with the center diff (not FWD with RWD assist) in a 5MT, no ABS and minor suspension tweaks. It was an highly agile snow rocket until 10” or so.

Funny how things work out for different people. I have a 2007 Grand Cherokee: best and most reliable vehicle I have ever owned,

Not a jeep, but I am guessing when Jeep people think of snow this is it - chains on 4 wheels and everything locked.

Gosh I don’t know how many cars I dug out of snow like that when I lived in PA
