Liqui Moly Molygen gets my vote.
Rebate now too that brings it down to $14/jug.Hard to go wrong with Ultra when its on sale for $23/5 qts
What OCI do you use on the VEP full synthetic oil? ThanksValvoline Extended Protection
Uhhmmm , which M1 0W20 to buy at WM : 0W20 EP or 0W20 ESP ?FYI, M1 is offering $5 back (2 jug max) and Walmart is offering an extra $4 wallyworld bucks/jug. Will bring your jug cost to ~19$.
To compound matters - my WM now has both M1 0W30 ESP and M1 5W30 ESP side by side on the shelf for $27 ea.I eagerly await the results of that.
After the VRP runs are done on my Outback, I’m debating what will be my regular oil going forward. I’m mentally down to VRP 5w-30, ESP 0w-30 and M1 0w-40.

Yeah doesn't even seem like a question any more.ESP has more approvals on it so it’s the better choice View attachment 279356
ESP is the 2005 German Castrol of 2010 PUP of 2000 M1 Tri-Blend.Yeah doesn't even seem like a question any more.
It depends. I shoot for 4k, sometimes earlier and sometimes later. It’s pretty dependent on my time and what I feel like doing. What OCI do you use on the VEP full synthetic oil? Thanks
In my former Hyundai Elantra 2.0L engine it called for 5W20 but 5W30 was acceptable (per the OM). I ran a thick 5W30 for one OCI and noticed the performance drop off as well. Ditto for my Hyundai Sonata 2.4L except it was best to stay with a 5W30 due to specific Hyundai 2.4L engine challenges . If I were to run a off the shelf store 20 weight oil it would be M1 0W20 ESP X2 which is perhaps the best 20 weight oil on the shelf at WM .I know you're not asking me but I wanted to chime in because it's the internet. I've tried using a light 5W30 in one of my Outbacks that calls for 0w-20 and I just didn't like the performance drop. I might not mind using something like PP 5W30 because it's only like 9.8 kv100 but still I would just as soon use a proven, robust 0w20 to get the results I expect.
I defined the performance drop as engine was sluggish , engine did not run as “free” as while on 20 weight oil and throttle pep was missing.Butt dyno? It was a very noticeable difference in engine performance where the engine was far more sluggish and the idle was not quite right. Same thing happened when I used M1 0w40 in a Hyundai Accent with the GF4D engine that called for usage of 5W20 but allowed for 10w30.
Do those other regions use the exact same emissions equipment and specs as the US models? You answered your own question, apples to oranges.
