I feel like a hybrid with start/stop is a little different than ICE with start/stop but thas jus me.
2021
We will see.0W-16 != 0W-8
False equivalence is false.
What different? Oil pressure goes to zero in both cases. Hybrid lacks a starter as the battery does that job. But what difference does that make to the engine itself?I feel like a hybrid with start/stop is a little different than ICE with start/stop but thas jus me.
Or there's physics, but that often gets discarded unfortunately.We will see.
What's new, folks doubted 0w16 as well and they still do. I'm old enough to remember when 5W30 was considered not good enough. Times change, progress is made. Get out of the past!Or there's physics, but that often gets discarded unfortunately.
Somehow based on some of your previous posts I’m not convinced as to your technical prowess.What's new, folks doubted 0w16 as well and they still do. I'm old enough to remember when 5W30 was considered not good enough. Times change, progress is made. Get out of the past!
400k miles on 0w8, remember that. Then we will talkSomehow based on some of your previous posts I’m not convinced as to your technical prowess.
But hey, maybe that’s just me.
As someone who has actually gone well over 400K in a vehicle… I’ll just let that stand400k miles on 0w8, remember that. Then we will talk![]()
Guess this guy didn't take that advice and his made it to a million and counting on 0w20 lolAll my 400k+ rigs got 15w-40.

I think Cummins holds the record of 2.6 million miles on a 6.7. Diesels are just different animals.They also didn't run gasoline, lol
We will but just because one product did it does NOT automatically mean another product will. Thats where the false equivalence comes in. This other product might or it might not.We will see.
Fellow Sienna owner ran M1 EP 0w20 for a whopping 25,000 miles. And it was the post change EP. It is a fantastic oil. Got rid of the perfectly running Sienna at 385k miles, and bought a new one. Too bad EP is not available in 0w16I have been running Mobil 1 EP 0w20 in my 2018 Wrangler with only a few deviations, including Valvoline EP 0w20 and Shell RGT 0w20 and M1 ESP X2 0w20. It has 102k miles on it now. My Gladiator was purchased with 35k miles on it and I've run nothing but M1 EP 0w20. It has 56k on it now.
I also like the X2 and am considering Truck & SUV 0w20 because I can get it for about $4 less per jug than EP.
I'm surprised there are not more fans of Mobil 1 EP 0w20. Yes, they reduced the PAO, but there still appears to be more than any other except for maybe X2. The SDS seems to say between 10% and 25% PAO. That's the same range as listed for ESP X2. I don't see the point in paying more than the $29 for EP at Wallyworld. The X2 does have a slightly higher flash point and lower pour point, so maybe there's a little more PAO in the actual formula for X2?
My Pentastars seem to love it. Not much noise or racket. A couple of times I forgot to shut off the Gladiator. The engine idles so quietly and smoothly, I did not realize it was still running. (Doh!) I've not done that in the Wrangler because it has a manual transmission and I leave it in gear when I park. I really don't know why my brain farts with the Gladiator. Lol. But both engines are silky smooth and quiet on the M1 EP.
I do remember seeing particularly low wear numbers in the UOA's the couple times I ran Shell RGT. I liked that oil a lot.
