This is comical.
My great grandfather was one of the foremost authorities on hydro electricity, has 48 patents on various hydroelectric devices and has a University scholarship in his name.
He drove Ford vehicles. And hey, he also had a Rolls but who's counting.
My grandfather also pursued this field. He worked on and serviced generators all over the world. And after his retirement, did Hydro Electric consulting work.
He had been buying Ford vehicles since the the Model A.
My father is a University professor, has numerous publications to his name and also, drives Ford vehicles.
I am a Network Engineer, have been into electronics and computers since I was a young child. I got my first computer when I was 8, and was working on VAX networks by the time I was 10. I was taking University courses by the time I was in grade 9.
Trying to paint a demographic as "stupid" by means of their choice of automobiles is a pathetic and sad attempt at trying to boost one's own ego. Stating "hey look, I'm smart, I drive a Honda, and this article says so!" is simply a sign of one's own insecurities.
Nothing like showing some Honda kid that the "cool" stuff they think they can do with the ECM on their newer Civic can be done with a MOATS chip on a 1988 Mustang ECM. The blank stare that follows is priceless.
People buy cars for a variety of reasons. Where they fall on society's intellectual bell curve, and whether they quality for MENSA are two reasons that do not fit in.
Don't be jealous because the article says I'm smarter than you.
Kidding of course.
Around here we have a ton of Ford vs GM wars. It's all in good fun, we all band together against the imports anyway. Half the anti Ford stuff that comes out of my mouth is so ignorant I have a hard time keeping a straight face while saying it but it's just to get under the other person's skin. I refrain from it on here because without facial expressions people may take me seriously.
Besides, I'm a closet Termi fan.
I work with a lot of very smart people including several Network Engineers and they all drive beaters. If it's a Ford it's likely a V6 Mustang and if it's a GM it's likely a G4 that's beat to death. It seems like the poor people like me drive the nicer cars and the more well off don't really care about cars.
