What Vitamins are you taking?

Need folic, zinc with lysine. For bad cases eating raw garlic or taking black garlic (not as good) everyday can help. If you don’t mind pain there are liquid garlic supplements that can be applied to the sore.

Avoid arginine and nuts, chocolate, seeds, oats, generally avoid plant oils with high omega 6, but animal, coconut , sesame, fish are fine.
Ideally combined with a low carb diet.

Xylitol and mannose may also help .

Lysine works in much the same way as xylitol/mannose so If you just take lysine but are overloaded with the things I mentioned it won’t help.

Good idea to get a full panel of allergens and intolerances. You may need to go on the elimination diet / liquid to see if you have leaky gut/intenstional issues.

When I eat foods I am allergic to I get gut issues followed by skin issues like cold sores.
I've tried all that and more. I'm 48 so have had decades to narrow it down. None of that, over extended trial periods, has made any difference. 5000iu Vitamin D is the one that seems to be doing it. Also taking Vit K as well so it may or may not play into it.

It's so different for different people - a tough one. Your advice would help many, no doubt. Hopefully they figure out a vaccine sometime....

Your in a similar boat as me except mine is mostly expressed as wet nasty psoriasis anywhere I have hair

I mostly ignore my problems since I basically can’t eat anything and have to stick to a liquid diet and garlic to be slightly better. Anything even meat and clean veggies and the skin is garbage again.

I probably still eat better than most but just keep my face shaved and use a continuous revolving door of medicated shampoos of different types including old white zinc.
And a revolving door of probiotics, lysine , and gut builders.

Still have to suck on a garlic if I get an infection and be careful with how much I push it or I get crohns like symptoms where I have diarrhea no matter what I eat

I’ll check that stuff out.
I know many have responded with different remedy options. Yours might be a viral related , thus why you mentioned vaccine. In the Asian community, eating too much hot, spicy, fried stuff “heats” up the body internally. This is the drink supposedly has the “cooling” effect. It can also be a regular drink. No meds, just an option if you can find it. I just bought one today for myself.
Main ingredient is Prunella for the Herb tea, the other is Chrysanthemum.

Any brand Mens Daily Multi and I have for my whole life even as a teenager. Right now a mix of Kirkland Mens 50+ and Equate. I do check the magnesium level, though all multi do not have large levels of Magnesium and that is ok but I wont buy brands with the lowest amounts.
Also fresh fruit and vegetables were always part of my diet to an extreme some of my family members thought.

As many here know, I have severe health issues. The only vitamin complex that helps in any way is a high dose B Complex, methylated meaning it contains B12 as methylcobalamin, not cyanocobalamin. Which is crucial for individuals with MTHFR gene variants (me).

Hashimoto's (complete thyroid failure)
Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency (severe, life threatening, treatable)
Mixed Connective tissue disease (like Lupus)
Possible Myasthenia Gravis (muscle/nerve interface issues), negative labs, but very drug responsive

Believe it or not, I'm actually doing quite well now that treatment is dialed in. I give Grok AI credit for getting it right. Treatment is complex, constant and requires diligence.

I Don’t do multi because extra junk

I take a few supplements but vitamin D and C only and 4 elements I, Mg, Na, P
I added fresh fruit and vegetables to my post :) my whole life.
I was never into supplements other than the daily vitamin as a backup. Plus a daily aspirin starting maybe as long as 35 years ago. My whole life devoted to avoiding my family history of heart issues though not fanatic though some family members might have thought so.

Look at the inactive ingredients in your multivitamin

These will take you out of autophagy and end a fast

No inactive ingredients listed on both Kirkland Daily Multi and Equate Mens
Im not into the supplement thing though. SO far, Im still alive and ok to way better than ok considering. Miles ahead of the other living males in my family. Open mind to new ideas though, key for me is the food.

Here is the Equate Label.

Signature Care multivitamin gummies… purchased for $1.95/jar at an Old Order Mennonite-run salvage grocery store in Iowa

Swanson Ashitaba capsules, 500 mg. Antioxidant supposedly good for cellular renewal, anti-obesity/diabetes, and other benefits. Purchased from iHerb (where my wife is an in-house attorney). I’d consider growing the plants myself, but I hear it tastes like celery, one of the few foods I can’t stand.

Maltodextrin breaks any fast

one multi Vitamin 50+ for men
-4000-5000 IU of Vit.D (Currently as we getting a lot more of the sunny days. Winter/ fall it may be 6000 IU or a bit more/plus use of a SAD lamp for 45 minutes in the morning).
Three capsules of curcurmin Tumerin
Two tablets of a B6/B12.
-2-3 tablets of a magnesium/calcium/zinc combo
Afternoon or past 7pm a tall glass of Beet root extract powder with filtered water.
Low dose of Iron 15mg-30 mg maybe once or twice a week. Some weeks I skip.
Altho my Multi has Vit.c &E, it's low dose and I will buy the stand alone bottles.
Also need to buy Omega3 Fish oil capsules. And Glycine ---https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/glycine#is-it-safe
I bought Creatine powder, but only took maybe a dozen times a few months ago.
I have a Fibre powder I add now and then a teaspoon or less in my coffee cup or in water/juice.

Maltodextrin breaks any fast
For me personally Im thinking there isnt enough to break it.
I found this from respected (in this forum) source. Thanks for the input, Im thinking I will wait until I eat from now on. At the same time, I think the dash of milk I use in my coffee may break a fast more than that small pill. Either way, there is no particular time I take the daily vitamin, might as well wait until a meal and now that you got me thinking I think the dash of milk is even more important to just go black coffee. IF I want a total fast which I think I do.

I think too much and would still wonder how a small dash of even milk would disrupt an entire day of not eating, that would be burned up in no time, I would thing and I hate thinking to much all the TIME *LOL*

Either way, thanks, will take the vitamin at meal time.

@Pablo I simplified my post *LOL*
