What Vitamins are you taking?

D3 5000 iu
Magnesium glycinate
Psyllium husk (more fiber!!)

Anything else is a waste of money, and is unnecessary when eating a quality nutritious and balanced diet. There's also risks involved. Vitamins and supplements have frequently been found to be contaminated. It's a complete mess of an industry.

I've noticed a positive correlation between me taking vitamins and getting kidney stones so I take half a daily dose once a week. Just started to take a potassium since I'm on diuretics for high blood pressure and I get really bad cramps at night if I'm walking a lot playing golf. Going to start CoQ10. Take 1 g of creatine on occasion. Does seem to help my mental sharpness.

Easy to just get GNC Mega Men vitamin packs. Your brain controls your physical decline so we eat Dr Love’s Nuro plus and his Lions Mane. It has all you need to feed your brain and stop dementia and altzimers. If you want to add a decade or two to your life then research peptides and NAD+ are the way to go. KLOW peptide will heal your joints and back. It is what the 70 year old movie stars that look 45 have been taking. Retatrutide burns away 60% of the fat in your fatty liver. Epitalon stops your DNA from spliting into garbage that causes cancer and adds 11-28% to your life expectancy. All of our numbers are in normal range and we are still banging like 28 year olds in our 60’s. Peptides are the future of all medicine and 3000 medical studies are currently ongoing. Why wait?

Vitamin D3 5000iu with K
200mg Magnesium

I’ve been plagued with cold sores my whole life and 6 months ago I started taking the high dose of Vitamin D. I haven’t had a cold sore since. That’s by far the longest stretch I’ve ever had.

I do not know for sure that it’s the Vitamin D but the timeline matches. Time will tell.

I take the Magnesium to control occasional RLS at night.

Another good vitamin to take for preventing cold sores is Lysine

Sports Research Multivitamin
Nordic Naturals Phospholipids
Viva Naturals 3X Strength Fish Oil
Health Thru Nutrition NR+PQQ
NOW Nattokinase
Pure Synergy Beta 1,3-Glucan
Sunwarrior Organic Psyllium Husk
Occasional variety probiotics
Sprouts Bulk Pea Protein
Sprouts Bulk Collagen
Low dose Atorvastatin
Low dose Ezetimibe

I’ve tried absolutely everything over the years. Lysine had no effect, at any dosage. I think it does help some folks though.
Do you also get bloody noses?

Have you tried Herb tea or Chrysanthemum tea, the kind that are in half gallon bottles sold in Asian supermarkets. Or this canned one sold in some grocery stores.

It works for me. I started getting cold sores at the end of 2024 and they were reoccurring quickly after one would go away. I started taking Lysine and I haven’t had any show up in about a year now.

Glad it works well for you!

I always enjoyed the advice to “reduce stress”! Easier said than done 🤣

600mg Acetyl -L-Cysteine
1000mg Nicotinamide Riboside chloride
32mg niacin B3
34mg B6
480mcg B12
60mcg B7 biotin
50mg L-Tyrosine

Taken daily. I've been taking all but the NR for ten years and it has stopped my white blood cell count dead in its tracks at 25k (cll leukemia) I had treatments 12 years ago that put me in remission but it took off again after the treatments so I started this regiment and it stopped and has not been able to continue to rise. The latest tests show that adding the 1000 mg of NR a few months back has started to decrease it. I read PubMed medical journals non stop for a long time looking for something that actually helps and this is what I came up with. So far so good.

Need folic, zinc with lysine. For bad cases eating raw garlic or taking black garlic (not as good) everyday can help. If you don’t mind pain there are liquid garlic supplements that can be applied to the sore.

Avoid arginine and nuts, chocolate, seeds, oats, generally avoid plant oils with high omega 6, but animal, coconut , sesame, fish are fine.
Ideally combined with a low carb diet.

Xylitol and mannose may also help .

Lysine works in much the same way as xylitol/mannose so If you just take lysine but are overloaded with the things I mentioned it won’t help.

Good idea to get a full panel of allergens and intolerances. You may need to go on the elimination diet / liquid to see if you have leaky gut/intenstional issues.

When I eat foods I am allergic to I get gut issues followed by skin issues like cold sores.
