What vehicles are your local police department purchasing now?

Most of the ones around here are Durangos or Tahoes. Usually only bigger city PDs have the Chargers. Local PD has a newer Challenger that's unmarked, assuming it was part of civil forfeiture from a case.

Last police vehicle I saw was a 4 door Jeep wrangler and an F150.

almost all ford Products, one local township replaced their last crown vic with an F-150. the rest of their fleet is explorers.
..of course... one of the major employers in the area is a Ford Engine plant. currently listed as making the 2.7 and 3.0 ecoboost, as well as the 3.3,3.5, and 3.7l NA Duratec (Cyclone).

Explorers and Chargers are most of what I see; plus a few Tahoes and Ford F150’s for work up in Algonquin Park.

Ours transitioned from Crown Vics to Explorers
Was this just recently? Because those must be some tired Crown Vics. I see CVs in big cities occasionally but apparently those are sometimes vehicles that were pullout out of service and in evidence lockup. So once the case is finished, the car gets put back into duty.

Stellantis gave them a better deal and have been transitioning to Chargers and Durango's. Wonder how poorly this will wind up...
I haven't verified this but I have heard lower control arms and suspension parts on the Dodges are 3x the price of Ford equivalents.

Funny how K1XV jumped in right as I as going to post from Vermont…

Just saw Richmond PD doing a traffic stop with a fully-marked Tesla…wow.

My agency has Explorers and is aging out two Tahoes.

Local police and sheriffs have Chargers, Explorers and Tahoes. The AL State Troopers have Tahoes, F-250s and Chargers.

In my area the Texas state police are all Tahoes, the Ellis county sheriff's are using Tahoes. The cities of Waxahachie and Midlothian police are using Tahoes (Midlothian does have a couple Explorers) and the cities of Arlington, Dallas and Ft. Worth seem to be chargers unless your a higher rank then they have Tahoes.

Two overlapping jurisdictions here:

County Sheriff and Deputies: Now they have Chargers and Durangos. Maybe any new ones will be Durango?

City Police: Explorer Interceptors (and I saw an unmarked F150 with blue lights on and someone pulled over). I presume it was city

Arizona Troopers are transitioning from the Ford Explorer to the Tahoe, while local PDs are sticking with the Explorer for now. Back in the '70s when I wore a badge, I drove a '74 Dodge Coronet with the 440 Magnum, while the CHP ran the Dodge Monaco 440. Man, do I miss those days. 🥹
Shoot. My first assigned car was a Monaco 440. Would go like stink in a straight line but couldn't stop or turn to save it's life. Scared a lot of skelts with it though 😁.
