What vehicles are your local police department purchasing now?

All Tahoes around here, can't beat them.
Totally agree and I want one for the family.

Our PD is a bit strange that at one point, we had Crown Vics, Durangos, Explorers, and Tahoes (2016 gen), at the same time. Never a Charger. But now all new cars seem to be Tahoes.

I am truly disappointed to know the V8 Dodges are gone. I guess inline 6 will be even faster etc. But something about a non turbo V8.

Ours transitioned from Crown Vics to Explorers, but I'm not seeing any new generation Explorers.

I read on Wiki they have a 3.3l police package offering on the current generation.

Not sure how a twin turbo ecoboost would hold up for that duty.

Wonder what's next.
Once again-Quality is Job 1...

I think the newest ones are Tahoes.
Before that they had just gotten some Chargers.
The majority of the fleet seems to be Taurus, Previous generation Explorers and still quite a fewCrown Vics

Seems like a lot of different models to service.

Most PC seem to be Exploders and PV are Chargers though I have seen more than a few F150 unmarked the past few months.

Sadly, a similar accident just occurred in Candia, NH between on the highway. Tundra and a Grand Cherokee, where the Tundra side-swiped a Nissan Sentra then went across the median into oncoming traffic and hit the Jeep. Driver and passenger in the Jeep did not survive. The Toyota driver did not survive.

I am not posting pictures due to the tragic loss of life.
Saw it on the news, NH has had bad summer for highway deaths.

My local PD has had mostly Dodge Chargers for some years. Also, some Explorers and a pickup, unknown brand. The last purchase that I'm aware of was a new Explorer at the end of last year. It had spent nearly all of the time up to July this year at the dealer awaiting formerly unobtainable repair parts.

That State Trooper Mustang colors/graphics make it really look nasty.
Even though I live in NC and am obviously biased, the black and silver color combo on the NC Highway Patrol vehicles have always been sharp looking and pretty intimidating on about any vehicle, even back in the old days. This is especially so on that Mustang. Doesn't mean I want to see him in my rear view mirror, though, lol.

People driving like kamikaze. Must be listing to AM talk radio and going berserk on back roads. then they are launching and flipping cars, 90 mph dive bombing between ignorant highway texters - bad recipe on the overburdened highways around Manchester and I-93 in MA and that Exit 1 to 5 stretch entering NH.

And no crazy 2023 data represented here (National Transport Research)

Technically my municipality doesn't have a police force, but the village within the town is using Explorers. Both Volvo based and current-gen. Same with the county. State is all Chargers and Tahoes.

I just saw an article yesterday, Yahoo or MSN, can't remember which, that spoke of the unusually high rate of engine failures in Explorers with the "police" package. Even after Ford has done numerous inspections, they have not reached a conclusion as to what is causing these catastrophic failures. Rod through the block failures which has lead to engine compartment fires. They theorize that it's either rod bearing related, lubrication related, etc.

Mostly Explorers; once I qualified for a law enforcement discount the Mustangs were all replaced with SUVs. Rats.
