Something tells me if she's stepping out of a Luxo-Acura SUV, then she doesn't want to drive around a Crown Vic, or a Malibu.

If it were me doing the buying, it would be an ecotech Malibu used with like 20k miles, buy it outright.

If she really wants a lease, I would check out a loaded up Saturn Aura.

I think she's planning on car-shopping this weekend, I'll post an update as soon as I find out what she finally decided on.

GM, I just noticed your post. You're absolutely correct! When I originally gave her that short list, I also gave her a long disclaimer reminding her that whatever she chooses is ultimately her choice.

Well guys, it looks like this little exercise was for naught!
I found out from another co-worker that the girl quit at the beginning of the week, so I'll never know what vehicle (or tractor

) she traded the MDX for!

Is that MDX affected by the known defective Honda transmission? When they replaced it, did they install the same unit or an updated one? Is it still under warranty?

I don't know why your friend has had trans problems with her MDX; that is NOT the vehicle in their line that had trans problems. At this point in time there are NO known major problems with Acura's or Honda's and far more problems with domestic vehicles overall. In this part of the country, domestic cars have far worse resale than Toyota, Honda, Lexus or Acura products. If she leases a domestic, she better be sure that she stays until the lease ends to avoid being upside down. Right now the new Saturn Outlook and possibly the Vue are getting better reviews than any other domestic suv/cross over vehicle. The vehicles you mention to lease are decent but the Camry and Altima are best; the Accord will be redesigned in a few months. Kia and Hyundai, while not bad, still have terrible resale value.

If she looks at a Malibu, have her wait until the 2008's come out (redesign) or check out a 2007 Saturn Aura.
