All the Rotella are good oils fore the money. The 10W-30 is not Jasoma rated so I would think the others would be a little better for your engine. T6 is probably the best of them.

GC is also a great oil.

Also any M1 diesel oil such as TDT would be a great choice.

You could also use some of the high milage oils such as Castrol HM, or M1 HM.

BTW the 225 was a real strong engine for its day. I heard something about it being discontinued because it was too hard to get it to pass modern polution requirements.

I always though it would be intresting to use todays modern fuel metering with all the electronics to meter fuel per cylinder and also fine adjust the timing of the spark to see how one of those engines could be made to pass polution, and what kind of power, performance, and life one would get from one.

So would I, but I'd hardly recommend it to the OP. He'd have to insist on it.

Gary the OP said money was no issue that is why I said Amsoil HDD
P.S. any on sale cheap PCMO or HDD 10w30 would do the job for 2.5k no need for Rotella

SuperTech would be my top pick if I was running 2.5k intervals. If it burns oil step up to a xW-40.

I would use and this is because I worked on industrial equipment and some of the older model equipment I worked on had them. The engines are tough and last a long time .What I would recommend is a HDEO oil like the suggested HDEO like Rotella Chevron DELO 400 in 10w-30 oils syn is not needed or required nor would be of any benefit. Those are nice feeling engines.

I wouldn't change the SSO or HDD at 3000 miles if I had a gold plated Ferrari. $10.00 per qt Right.

I'd recommend Mobil Clean 5000 at the weight specified in the owners manual. Or Mobil Delvac HDEO if you want.

Do you change the filter at 2500 also? What does the oil look like at 2500 miles?
