What Oil Filter, and Brand oil are you guys using?

'87 Nissan Pathfinder - Motorcraft + Mobil-1 10W-30.
'90 Mustang 5.0L - Motorcraft + Mobil-1 5W-30.

The Toyota and Nissan have remote adapters to use the same FL1A size filter as the Mustang...

Fortunately the PT and Tundra use the same size filter with identical specs, so I was able to loot the local K-mart of their entire supply of Penske 2825's last October when they were clearing 'em out (29 @ $1.15ea). Should take care of my filtration needs for the next decade or so.

After reading this Board I'm seriously thinking about exclusively using OEM filters & Penzoil LongLife 15W-40 in all of these, except the ZX-11 (Just as soon as I've used up what's left of the case of Havoline Formula 3 10W-30 Semi-Synthetic I got for $0.57 per quart!). And the 1-filter each Purolators I have sitting on my shelf...

Great oil!

It's darn cheap, should certainly lubricate well, has a great cleaning/additive package & should protect these engines very well.

I know I'm a social pariah for using the Ford 5W-20, but while it's under warranty and it's doing no harm(seeUOA)I'll stick with it. The Contour engine is most happy in the upper RPM ranges so I use Mobil 1 for extra protection. Also to make up for my "mistreatment" of the car by using Castrol Syntec 5W-50 with a Fram filter

for the first 30,000 mi of it's life. Please forgive me, I didn't know right from wrong until "you" showed me the light!

The new Dodge will probably switch to ST 10w30 also,along with ST filters.

All change intervals are at 3m/3000 miles,except the Demon,it gets changed every 3 race events,and all are performed by me.

Wife's 5.0 Explorer I use Mobil 1 5w30 and Motorcraft filter.
My 5.4 F-150 currently Motorcraft 5w30 either a Motorcraft filter or a Supertech.
The 5.4 has the filter mounted vertically so the antidrainback valve does not seem quite as important. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I will use Amsoil 10w-30 and an AC Delco UPF 44 Gold oil filter for my 2003 vette. I use Valvoline and Pennzoil with my Izuzu pu and my wifes Taurus. Motorcraft oil filter for the Taurus and a Wick or Fram with the PU.
