Maybe reconsider using M+H filters

What they should have said all the time. What other company provides spec sheets from the mother ship that differ from advertising? Big mistake by the customer service staff. .

Regardless, not any other companies were that transparent to begin with giving out "Spec Sheets" for individual filters. Go ask PG what their specs are on x filter & see what they say (as an example). This is an industry wide problem. Customers need to know what ISO data is on their particular filter, from any company, to more easily compare between filters & know what their buying. While disappointing, to go by OP standards it would be near impossible to find a filter that came with ISO data.

Fun while it lasted... :p

I emailed PG the other day in regards to a bypass valve question as well as to confirm efficiency on a specific filter PG111EX and they replied with what I asked for.

The key is ISO data. What specific efficiency test did they cite for that particular filter? The industry wide problem is marketing that may or may not be the filter you're using.

There is a big difference between withholding information (not good) and making false claims (really not good). Sure, they often go hand in hand, but the M+H folks have chosen to do the former after the latter.

Currently I like any PGI made filter like Carquest Premium and Microgard Select. Pentius XL filters are also great. Of course any of this could change next week. Keeping up with c&p’s is key.
Just for kicks I shot a request to Pentius' customer service to see if they would provide the spec sheets for their filters. I see a 12 pack of their Honda-compatible UFXL filters on Amazon for $57 (4.75 a pop) so I am hoping that they respond tomorrow and I can buy them and stop overthinking this whole thing.

I bought the same case! Running one as we speak on an Acura RDX. I have emailed them multiple times with no response. There is a Pentius thread around here where someone called and confirmed 99%@20 microns.

They gave out the information (good) and didn’t make false claims. Where do you get they withheld information? They didn’t even know what was going on when I asked about the website versus the sheets. They had the sheets to give out and that’s all they knew. Eventually it was figured out and one filter was corrected on the website. They still don’t get it, including the president. These phone and email people don’t know what any of it means imo. Staff inside the company know, but they don’t answer the phone they work on products.

They promoted incorrect/misleading efficiencies and then when called on it now refuse to provide any verifiable information at all?

But don't take my word for it. Just email [email protected] and ask to see the spec sheets for Purolator oil filters.

Yes they did on the Purolator website, read post 17. Guess you missed all the other threads about how the president of M+H got word, and after that the efficiency info on the Purolator website for the Boss changed to reflect the Spec Sheet. There is only one filter reference for the Boss efficiency claims on Puroltator's website, and as mentioned, the info on Purolator's website for the referenced Purolator ONE PL3000 still doesn't match the Spec Sheet either ... it was not corrected.
