Making room for Purolator

Raleigh, N.C. – March 28, 2024 – Purolator Filters (a division of MANN+HUMMEL―the leading global expert in filtration) today announced that its PurolatorBOSS® and PurolatorONE™ oil, air and cabin air filters are now available at 240 Meijer supercenters throughout the Midwest.

Meijer will stock Purolator filter products covering 240 million cars, crossovers, SUVs and light trucks on the road today.

Additionally, Purolator and Meijer will work together to promote the value of routine vehicle maintenance through campaigns featuring specials on oil change supplies, bundling discounts, and bonus rewards in Meijer’s mPerks loyalty program.

“Purolator is a brand that has been trusted by do-it-yourselfers for more than a century, and this agreement enables these self-starters to purchase our premium vehicle filters while taking advantage of Meijer’s one-stop shop convenience and popular repeat shopper program,” said Daryl Benton, vice president of sales and marketing for the automotive aftermarket with MANN+HUMMEL.

That was from last year, they clearanced those a long time ago, I feel like it was 2 years ago I got a bunch of Ultra filters, but that may have been the 3593A size, but they cleared out the rest of the Ultras and Tough Gaurds last year along with a bunch of air filters.

The store I was at today, had 15% off all remaining Fram filters. Not many left. The shelving had mostly Purolator filters

Actually, Purolator is coming back to Walmart. One store in DFW area had ALL the Fram Endurance filters on clearance and all new price tags on the shelves for the 20,000K mile Purolator filters at $8.XX each

I think its been 9-10 years?? since Purolator has been sold @ WM?? I remember buying some on clearance I think red cans?? $1.50 each @ a WM in Oregon/Washington for my Suburban lol

Now, All we need is for Mobil 5000 to return to WM ;)

Likely the most complimentary light to shine on me today.

SERIOUSLY:
Given the slow rate at which consumers use oil filters (once every 3,00 to 15,000 miles), it seems to me the industry must make 'em by the zillion, distribute them fast to warehouses and stores, then wait for them to sell.
It'd be nice to know how many oil filter plants there are worldwide.

Family farm and home still sells it. I ran lots of the 5w30 as well as formula shell back in the day. Life was simpler back then. I’d still use formula shell if I could find it. That was some of the quietest oil my engine ever saw.
