I use the Napa 1356, same as a Wix 51356.

Well, I just got a free "customer appreciation event" oil and filter change at the dealer. Supposedly the use/used Mobil Clean 5k or a similar Mobil product. At least, that's what the advertising placard showed in the service writing area. I also asked the service writer and that's what he said.

That said, I doubt it came from the bottle, likely the bulk tank so who really knows.

That said, for free, I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. Might be the second or third dealer oil change the 03 Altima with ~73k has seen and one of those was also free on a recall/TSB. Back to DIY, next time.

So this dealership uses Mobil/M1 products except for that super duper (expensive) Nissan Ester oil.

The Austin, Texas area Nissan dealers, that I have used, use 10W-30 Citgo Bulk Oil, even though my manual specifies 5W-30. I have not used the dealerships since that episode. I have an independent shop work on my Nissan for everything now, including oil/filter changes, as I can bring my own oil and filters to be changed. The shop I use has been excellent and less expensive to use to maintain my Nissan. The independent shop does not use bulk oil anymore, they use oil out of the bottle now.

My Mustang is still under warranty, and the Ford/Lincoln Mercury dealer takes care of it for me, they use only Ford Products out of the bottle as to oil, and they use the Ford Oil/Air Filters as well. I use the dealer just in case there may be warranty issues later on, and the proof will be there for review.

Trop-Arctic Synthetic Blend is made by Conoco-Phillips and is nearly identical to Motorcraft Synthetic Blend. Conoco-Phillips also makes Kendall oils from the same base oils.

I have used Trop-Arctic Synthetic Blend 5w20 interchangeably with Motorcraft Synthetic Blend 5w20. Trop-Arctic Synthetic Blend oil was popular on this forum several years ago when it was one of the most cost effective oils sold at Wal-Mart.

Brand? Depend on which salesman got to the service manager that Qtr. Bulk oil- nothing wrong with it in a shop that goes through it at a reasonable rate. I know, putting a lubricant in the magic plastic bottle with pixydust makes the oil so much better :) Here come the Oestrus Bunny Wabbit - Weeee!
