New Nissan Titan 5.6L

Titans seem to hold their value very well. Our neighbor in SC pulled a boat from Michigan, to and from every year that was 3 times the size of his truck and he had almost 200k on it. Always impressed me. I always wanted one but had my psd which has now been retired to a full time roofing truck at my son’s business. Now I really have no need for a truck that gets horrible gas mileage that I’d probably never use. But I’d still like to have one, just because.

I've been running Pennzoil Platinum 0w-20 in mine. I haven't done a used oil analysis yet, but it doesn't sound unhappy. I know some people think they're snake oil, but I installed a UPR oil catch can and was shocked at the amount of oil that gets sucked back into the intake via the PCV system. Even if it doesn't make a difference, I feel better knowing that I kept that oil out if the intake and off the valves, not to mention out of Nissan's sensitive catalytic converters.

It can’t hurt I’ll have to look into the UPR catch can

My son just bought a super clean 17 platinum reserve. 90k and it’s needs a valve cover gasket. It’s leaking more than just a little. If anyone’s done one, don’t be afraid to offer advice.

Run a full synthetic 5w30 of your choice and change it at a safe interval. You don't want to do timing chains on these 5.6's and I have done a few - sucks! (They were 2011-2015 model years which had issues. The newer one's are just fine)

The Titan is probabaly the most underrated truck ever.
They never seemed to get a foothold in the market. I know the initial year had rear axle problems and the Cummins diesel program was a disaster. Other than that you don't hear a lot of bad things about them. I think the biggest issue was Nissan in general is not a strong brand these days. Back when they were Datsuns they had a great reputation with the 510, 240Z, and the small pickup.
