Does Motorcraft make a full synthetic? Who else makes true synth's? I haven't found AMS oil anywhere around my place yet.

Also is it safe to mix oils? I have 1/2qt of RP and 1/2 of GC. is it safe to mix them with other oils? if not how do you suggest I get rid of them?

Yes Motorcraft makes a full synthetic. Dealer and some walmarts should carry it.

Pennzoil Platnium, Valvoline Synpower, and M1 are all quality synthetics.

Yes you can mix and use those two oils to get rid of them. When there gone, stick to one oil at a time.

The difference in weight from a 5W-20 to a 5W-30 is generally pretty small, so the use of 5W-30 won't be a big deal. Pennzoil Platinum 5W-30 or Valvoline Synpower 5W-30 would be good, inexpensive choices. Right now you can get Pennzoil Platinum 5W-30 at O'Reilly (Checker, Shucks and Kragen too) for $3.99 a quart (limit 6 I believe).

Thanks guys, looks like I'll use up what I have left then move to 5w20 synth Motorcraft.

The Motorcraft Full Syn (ConocoPhillips) is very comparable to Pennzoil Platinum and Valvoline SynPower. Grp III basetocks and what not.

The difference is that you can get your hands on PP or VSP for less. I've got a hook-up at the Ford Dealer, and at just 10% over cost I couldn't get my hands on MC Full Syn for less than $7/qt. If you're willing to pay that much, just go with RedLine.

I've been running PP 5W-20 and 5W-30 for a while now (modified 4.6 4V) and have been more than happy with it. It sees extended periods tach'ing over 3000 rpm and regularly sees 7000 rpm shift points.

Amsoil is sold here on BITOG search up Pablo or Gary Allen they will help you get Amsoil.
Mixing oils wont kill ya! it is fine to do it, I only do it if I have no oil showing on the dipstick and I have no other choice.
Generally I dont do it at all cause all the vehicles I maintain run Extended Drain Intervals.
Always best to use the same oil when used for very long drian intervals.

I have the same car however I have no mods. I bought it used with 5,000 miles two years ago...it now has just over 10,000. First summer I used Mobil 1 5w-30, last summer I used Mobil 1 EP 5w-20, and this year I have tried Amsoil XL 5w-20. Drove it for the first time this weekend and the engine is noticeably quieter with the Amsoil than it was with Mobil 1. I will probably switch to PP next change and do it every six months no matter how many miles were driven. The general consensus from what I have read is stick with 5w-20 with the mach.
