What is in Jet fuel?

If the solar panels get a pass, then perhaps electric battery vehicles may also. They are allowing battery tools after all. Not sure what the opinion on windmills is. I’ll bet they have mechanical windmills to pump well water. Maybe they are on to something. ;)

You lost me. You probably lost all of us.

Speak for yourself. LOL. Posts 5,6,7 and 10 brought the Amish into the discussion. I guess I could have done a reply on one of them. They seemed to have picked a certain era and live their life at a standstill in that era, ie kerosene lanterns, horse and buggies etc., but apparently they have embraced solar panels, which has absolutely nothing to do with that era but they feel it is “natural” and worthy of their lifestyle requirements.

Kerosene here in NYS is dyed red, just like heating oil. No more clear kero at the pump, only pre packaged store bought can be had clear.
Red means not road taxable nor road use legal.

A little side bar to this thread:

I have noticed that the Amish are seldom seen in areas with roads with hills. When driving a vehicle with literally One Horse Power, the steep hills around Pittsburgh are something to seriously avoid. As the area becomes slightly more populated with hills and the hills become steeper, theres a corosponding drop of Amish traffic.

Its like there's this invisible line at the boarders of the flat lands and the lands with hills. Cross that line and on the flat side seeing a horse drawn Amish cart or wagon is not that uncommon. On the other hilly side, you'll never see one.

We who travel in vehicles that climb hills at the same pace as when on flat, and decend hills without a second thought about it, don''t think about how difficult that would be if our vehicles had their limitations.

Gots to admire the fuel ecomony of their vehicles though. But the cab heating and cooling system is not that great, and daily maintance is a non stop non negotiable daily chore that someone has to do come rain or shine or heat or cold.

Maybe some in motorized vehicle think those in horse drawn vehicle are at a disadvantage of not traveling fast, while those in horse drawn vehicles think those in motor drawn vehicles are at a disadvantage of not traveling slow enough to truly see hear and smell all that nature has to show us as we travel.

There was a piece on NPR on an Amish tool trade show. Apparently many are OK with air powered tools and natural lighting. Won’t necessarily run the compressors themselves, but will pay others for compressed air or will swap tanks with compressed air.

The solar panel thing might be more about less reliance on the “English” to provide their needs on a constant basis.

Reading some more on it, where the compressors may be wind or generator (or solar) powered. Or possibly battery powered tools where the batteries are charged with solar or generator power. But the general idea is not being directly connected to a power grid.

Everyone knows that jet fuel contains mind altering chemicals that the government adds to control the populatioplisfj[livmplkfmlm.

NEVER MIND...JUST KIDDING....TOTALLY UNTRUE....SORRY TO HAVE BOTHERED YOU....

Amish people travel long distances on Amtrak. I sat next to a family from El Paso to Chicago. What was curious to me was, they had to contact someone who was going to pick them up from the train station in Wisconsin. They had no cell phones. They could speak on my cell phone, but I had to dial the number for them. I don't know if that is because they cannot dial numbers, or if it is because he was unfamiliar with my Samsung phone.
