I have officially changed my regime a bit.

In addition to the D, I also take some reishi capsules, and use maca root in my diet. Plus I have upped my Vitamin C.

Need to crank up the exercise output. Christmas kinda loaded me up.

I've got all sorts of stuff there, as I have no specific regime, taking some stuff seasonally, and as I eat, works, and sauna differnently. In nature, we don't eat a "balanced diet", or meat and three veg every night, so I don't have a same thing everyday, so give the body a rest on things between)
D, C, Zn, and Mg are fairly regular (plus I get a LOAD of sun). Have a copper water flask next to our bed.
Multivitamin once a week or so.
B group. Complex, and a couple of specifics depending - flushing niacin powder in the sauna every now and then)...couple times a week for B, depending how stressed work is.
A and E, not very often, couple times a month. K2 to complement the D sometimes.
Lionsmane, Glucosamine, Fish oil, and Cod Liver Oil. MSM powder

It's definitely better to get tested first before taking any supps. But, as for the Vitamin D, it's necessary for everybody who isn't sure to get enough of it naturally. Vitamin C is necessary for the growth, development and repair of all body tissues, Vitamin E is important to vision. I also take a complex of supplements from online pharmacy in-between seasons as the diet changes and my body needs different vitamins.

Magnesium glycinate. I have crohn's disease and had a couple feet of small intestine removed and don't absorb enough from my food. Helps with muscle cramps and makes me sleep like a baby.
You should be taking the highest grade colostrum you can afford.

My Staples:
Whey Protein (no artificial flavor/sweetener)
Cod liver oil (This has some vitamin D)
Vitamin C
Glucosamine/Chondroitin
Multivitamin
CoQ10 - ubiquinol
Magnesium, Zinc

Then I dabble in some other things from time to time.

3am in the morning I get 3 ounces of apple juice and throw down my special brew.

2400 mg Olive oil
2 drops of Clover Honey
600 mg Fenugreek seed
500 mg Monolaurin
500 mg Citrus bioflavonoid complex
500 mg Liposomal vitamin C
60 mg Garlic extract

The rest of the day you don't want to know :)

Learned something new today. Monolaurin. 1st time I ever heard of it.

I live in a cave. 😳

My MD has had me on 5000 iu of Vitamin D for years. I was tested and found low in the winter, so I take one every day.

I take a Men's 50+ multivitamin. I split it and take one half in the AM and the second later in the day. I suspect it allows me to get a bit more out of it. I.E. less yellow pee. Who knows if that's true or not.

I take 600-1200 mg of Omega-3 each day in the same fashion as the multivitamin. I introduce it twice a day. A B complex, C and Zinc to help the immune system stay as fit as possible.

I get exercise 3-6 days a week, a combination of weights and cardio.

Type 2 diabetes runs in the family. My grandmother who will be 98 this year has it, as does my mom and then I was diagnosed a few years back when my fasting BG was 180+

I can keep it down to 100-125 with diet and exercise and 500mg of Metformin everyday. I try to limit carbs to no more than 60g / meal and no more than 195g/day. That seems to be the trick. Although some days I get a bit of dawn effect and oddly enough, after a nearly zero carb breakfast of bacon and eggs, the BG will go down, not up.

Seems to be a family trait/curse. But bacon and eggs is not a bad way to cure the problem :)

If my sugars are more normal, I'll add some peppers and onions and cheese and make an omelet out of it.
