I don't mind 304 although I definitely strive for 303 if welding isn't required.
I hate 316. Drills poorly, terrible hole finish, the chips suck and trashes standard drill bits.

Yeah, I got the notice but never had it done within the 1 year time frame. Luckily my extended covered it. I forget the numbers but I think it had a draw of 130mA. And now it is 30mA.
2008 FJ Cruiser: finished rear wheel seals. Both sides were leaking. I actually remembered to order the axle housing o-ring (90301-83002) this time and replaced those, too. And I replaced the brake pads just because they were exposed to so much gear oil.
Also replaced the spark plugs. Found the factory nickel Densos in there with 201k miles. The gap had gone from factory spec of ~.043" to .065" but it still ran great before.

I've been very happy with the two sets of KU27's I've purchased. I've got them on my '95 Seville right now, and they suit a luxury car quite well. Should be a great match for that Avalon.

I was just browsing Copart and came across a really nice looking 2013 Soul! that's just about loaded... they're asking $975 B.I.N. and it's listed with "mechanical" as the only damage. A new short block & head are fairly reasonable from the dealer. The engine/trans basically falls out of the car if you have a lift.
Use GM or Mahle, Fel Pro will fit for initial install....But will swell & cannot be reused.

Worked on the Yerf Dog go kart, installed the front suspension, wheels, steering rack, rear swing arm, test fitted the rear axle, sprockets and rear wheels. I need to meditate if I'm happy with the rear axle width or not (40 inches). A bit more work to do from here but the main chunks are coming together.
On the Kohler LH775 engine that dropped a valve guide, I successfully drilled and put a set screw to hold both the intake and exhaust valve guides with loctite 640. Ordered a new headgasket, valve stem seals, exhaust gasket, pushrods, lifters. If this works i'll have saved $300-500 vs a new cylinder head. Will know in the next few months.
Finished up the Hyundai, Had to change the thermostat as the original was sticking, The run to the dealer was inconvenient but I have bad luck with aftermarket thermostats.

I love those Kumhos though. Have a set on my Sonata and put a pair on the front of the Genesis. Smooth as glass, nice and quite, better handling than the Yokohamas it had before even when they were new.
My ES350 will get a set probably this winter.

I would've weld three pieces of bar stock into a tripod then a 5/8" nut & use a slide hammer, That hard bearing race material spooks me as I've had to remove pieces of it from under my skin more than once. Couple years ago had to go to a Care Now & have a piece cut out, That $800 bill wasn't worth the time saving Cowboy s**t!!
