What are you eating right now?

I'll show you chicken, AM! I had my unhealthiest dinner of the year at the galleria. Nothing but Shihlin's Taiwanese spicy fried chicken. They come with skewers not chopsticks. I ate all of it, about 5 portions. I could almost feel my telomeres shortening.

After burning too much of my fat reserves during my vacation, I'm now back to 212 pounds and 14% body fat. For the last 6 weeks I have been bulking by eating more carbs and calories than usually and now it's time to shape up for maintaining my body composition. As part of the weight gain I have been eating also foods I normally won't touch. Here is tonight's dinner. I'll probably have more of basically the same things in another hour. Carrots, broccoli, tomatoes, bell pepper, a pear. I also ate two hard-boiled eggs for protein.

Ugly dinner: Ground turkey with onions, bell peppers, eggs, and an avocado. Also a bowl with oat bran, oat milk, inulin (probiotic that actually makes it into the lower intestinal tract), almonds, hazelnuts, chopped dates, blueberries, vanilla, cinnamon, and cocoa powder.



 
I made a mistake in the above post. Inulin is a prebiotic and not a probiotic. Probiotics are bacteria like acidophilus in yogurt and prebiotics are a type of fiber that is the food for the ca 5 pounds of bacteria in our intestinal tract.

Patties made with turkey, egg, onions, bell pepper, and parsley. Served with a little Okonomi sauce because the turkey needs help. Cooked carrots for better Vitamin availability, raw broccoli, because it's best eaten raw and because I like its raw taste and texture better. Also one pear.

Natto, not the most appetizing look stuff. I have warmed up to it. It offers cardiovascular benefits and is good for the gut biome. Your immune system is only as good as the bacteria in your intestine.

 
Pizza Sunday yet again, our favorite day of the week!

Today's pies include a Detroit-Style Pizza, but with a little twist, as the crust waa based on a cold fermented sourdough. A little extra flavor complexity going this route, it was amazing. It was topped with Italian sausage, green pepper and red onion. Topped with a little fresh basil.

Second up was a traditional Neopolitan. Simple as can be, but oh so good!

Already planning next weeks Pizzas.... few ideas in mind :)

No picture, but I just had two slices of center cut bacon. I then fried up some fajita mix peppers and onions in the bacon fat. Then 5 eggs, gouda cheese and some ham. Split the bacon and scramble between me and oilBabe, put the peppers on my portion as they disagree with her.

A little Callahan's Chipotle pepper sauce on my portion for a bit of added zing.
