EDIT: Description. First meal. My pretzel reject, toasted. Duke's. Black pepper, salt. Turkey. Avocado. Side is 50/50 both homemade, apple sauce and cranberry sauce. No white sugar, cranberry has a little ground dates, but is not really sweet, just tangy and GOOOOD!

I am curious. Do they make special diets, say diabetic/very low carb?
My son volunteered for Meals on Wheels for a while. According to him they have special meal options but they gave everyone, including the diabetics, the horrible white Wobderbread-like toast, milk, pudding, pasta, and other carby things. Sounds to me like what they call a 'carb-consistent diet' in a hospital setting.

5***** Menu from meals on wheels today:
Goulash
Green beans
Carrots
Garlic breadstick
Lemon bar
Beverage mix
Margarine

We don't even get the milk, just a powdered drink mix. But I have my own milk, REAL butter as well!

Grocery getter just showed up and took out the trash. Will go to the store for food, then another store for new bed sheets also. Will pickup my weekly mail also. Then take my laundry home to wash. Gave her my credit card and list.

Just to be a real pain today, she is stopping at McDonalds to satisfy my junk food craving. Oh well, I pay her quite well for her time.

2 McRib's with double onions for my junk food meal tonight! :p

The McRibs are so good. Just I can’t do onions lol. Give me extra pickles.

Since nobody seems to make them in this part of the country, decided to make some buttermilk bars today... Had a few out in California and just loved them, so I suppose I had to make my own. Most of the time around where I live, places might do sour cream donuts at best, but not quite the same.

For my first attempt they came out really good! Some tweaks to make for the next batch, but otherwise I was really happy with them.
