Around 100What was your fasting glucose?
A 30, 40, or even 50 points in BG increase after a meal is not too bad after a meal. I presume BG comes back down to baseline before the next meal. A fasting sugar of 100 is borderline too high but could still be considered normal. I'm sure you know your HbA1C so you know best how vigilant you have to be to keep the numbers in the desirable range. Kudos for tracking your blood sugar. I have been tracking my blood glucose levels intermittently every few years for a couple of weeks out of curiosity and in an effort to optimize my health. Actually, I didn't track blood glucose, it was the glucose level in the interstitial fluid.Around 100

When your blood glucose levels drop below a certain point (maybe 70 or lower), your liver will increase glucose output. It may go a little overboard doing that. This happens fairly commonly in the morning hours when the body prepares for waking up. In anticipation of increased energy requirements, blood sugar will rise ("dawn phenomenon"). If you find out the dawn phenomenon affects you, make sure your blood glucose isn't too low before you go to bed because this may make the dawn phenomenon worse. It's different from person to person. You really need to observe it to draw conclusions. What I'm saying is, going to bed, for example, with a BG of 110 may result in a lower fasting (morning) BG than going to bed with a BG of 85. Only one way to find out.My waking glucose is higher than if I fast through the day.
I am going in Friday for an A1c which was a bit high last year, scared me a bit.
This aging junk is not for the weak.
Yes for sure I have dawn phenomenon and it surprised me the first few times I woke with BG 120 or something, I'm still closely observing. When your blood glucose levels drop below a certain point (maybe 70 or lower), your liver will increase glucose output. Lasagna. I hate lasagna lol. Nobody told me what we were having before I got home. I wish they would have so i could have stopped and got Chinese food that I wanted. And I hate corn on the cob too
. The roll is good though. I have the piece of lasagna on my plate and I took a nibble. Rest will go in the trash. I’m not a pasta guy at all.

I hate lasagna too. Life's too short to eat stuff you hate. Or so I tell my wife, who says I'm too picky and lucky she is patient.View attachment 148969
