What are you doing right now?

I had some Sony noise cancelling headphones delivered today. They are headphones. You put them on your head, turn on the noise cancellation, and things get quieter. It works, but there are all kinds of settings, bluetooth pairings, and other adjustments that need to be made, including software updates. What should be a simple thing seems to require a lot of set up and preparation.
I love my SONY headphones, they are wired. I was a little disappointed in AKG, also wired, but my favourite, are my wireless noise cancelling JBL headphones. I hope you too will enjoy yours, once you get them set up once and for all.

I was looking at the World Cup thread. I never recall the World Cup being this big of a deal lol. Not judging just saying it’s surprising to me that anyone could even watch soccer it’s not as bad as watching golf or tennis though I suppose. I wish there was more enthusiasm for baseball. I can tolerate basketball and football but baseball is really the only thing to catch my interest and I’ve lost interest with all the new rules they keep adding or changing.

More than I’d like to admit lol. Here’s my list:

Banks That I Have

Wells Fargo- Checking (paycheck goes into)

Virginia Credit Union- Checking and Savings

Blue Eagle Credit Union- Checking and Savings

Navy Federal Credit Union- Checking and Savings (eBay payouts go into)

Bank of America- Checking and Savings

Ridge View Bank- Checking and Savings

Marcus by Goldman Sachs- High Yield Savings

Bank of Botetourt- Checking and Savings
Also totally forgot to add SoFi Bank to this list because I forgot about it till I just suddenly remembered when I saw a Reddit post about it haha.

When you start forgetting banks that you have accounts with, it is a sure sign that you have too many.
I added it to my list so I won’t forget next time haha. I sure do hate technology but actually online banking is nice because I also don’t like talking to people in person lol. I need to get the apps but I haven’t paid my Apple bills so I can’t download anything right now lol.

And all these banks are going to charge monthly fees for not having direct deposit or maintaining some several hundred dollar ballance.
Do you think? I never had one that has with any former banks and I plan to keep money flowing into them at least every few weeks. Won’t be direct deposit or a significant amount but will be some. They are all currently funded at the moment.

Not all banks have fees without direct deposit or a specific balance. I wouldn’t personally use a bank like that. I have just two banks. My small local bank and a larger one - mostly because it has Zelle for whenever I need that. I don’t use it for much else really.

The only reason I could fathom this is if all these banks have teaser high rates for the first $1000 deposit or whatever. That could be ok, nuts but ok

Monthly fees. I.E. BoA. Scroll down to the "Learn More" links and you'll see regular monthly maintenance fees. The promotions only waive fees for certain balances and/or deposits. And BoA is typical, not an outlier.

AM, you're going to be sending money down the drain via these low usage bank accounts. You don't need them and you won't get any benefit of "developing a relationship" with them.

Just transfer funds back and forth in them to avoid inactivity fees ... round robin transfer scheme. 🤑
