What are you doing right now?

Hmm. Watched a video about how one should retire as soon as possible, once they hit 60. Would be nice... but I don't see it. Too far off though.

Going back to work, reached a point in this project where I just want to hammer it out. Would be nice to do something else... but work is relaxing. At least it doesn't cost me money, that's what it has going for it the most.

My original plan when I was still with my ex wife was that both of us would retire at 52 but then after we split up I figured that I would work a few more years but I was basically forced into retirement at 53 anyway. But in the end I’m very happy being retired but having my new part time job as a Niagara tour guide. And I’m having the time of my life right now doing that. I think that most people should retire early from their original career and then find something way less stressful to do for the rest of their lives that will keep themselves busy

Taking a break from the computer for the evening. Spent free time the last couple of days cleaning out my e-mail account. The Yahoos at Yahoo! sent me a nastygram that if I didn't get my storage down to under the new 20GB limit, I wouldn't be able to get or receive e-mails until I either did so or paid for more storage.

And I wasn't about to pay for more storage...

We've first got to get one kid through college, then pay off the house, then I figure I'll be 60. But health insurance is the 800lb gorilla in the room, plus I won't be able to put away towards retirement for the next decade that I'd like to be.

Eh. Too hard to make plans that far out.

It’s a typical summer day for me, woke up at 5:40, got here in Niagara Falls around 8:15 and I will be here doing tours until about 2:30-2:45. Our new guide will be doing a 12:00 tour and the 4:00 so I can head over to my girlfriend’s place sooner since we are having a BBQ at her parents place tonight. It’s a long weekend up here so it will be a busy weekend at the falls. We are just two bookings away for beating our record number for a single day (our record is 42 people)

Hopefully the mist from the falls doesn’t reach the parking lot where my Corvette is sitting. The last two times I have brought it the mist made it there and it leaves very very hard water spots on it because of all of the limestone and other minerals in that water. Drives me crazy 😵‍💫

I walked back to my car and it’s already covered in mist so it’s gonna be another day where I need to spend a ridiculous amount of time cleaning off the hard water spots 🤦‍♂️

I'll be gathering the supplies to help a single guy neighbor wash his car tomorrow before selling it.
He's taken mechanical care of the car but has neglected exterior cleaning.
The vehicle drives well.

This wash job will be a 'quicky', however, I will "do the needful" to get the impacted dirt from the hood/adjacent fender seam.
There's standing dirt ON the trunk lid and other places.
I also want to see how the wheels will clean up.

He's the original owner of this 2003 Ford Crown Victoria (ever heard of those?)
It's black with a lighter tan/grey leather interior and has 136k.
The paint on the hood and roof has bubbled horribly.
The wildly peeled paint is uniform with the texture of having been sprayed with glue and heavily flocked with corn flakes.

A while back I suggested we sand it down, prime it and paint it with rattle cans. There's no way it could turn out worse looking.
However, he takes mechanical disinclination to new heights and physical output to new lows.

All the Crown Vics and MGMs I saw online were sparklers at dealerships.
The high mileage of some examples and apparent "garage queeniness" of others make extrapolating a price difficult.
He rejected my suggestion of $2,000 being a reachable price.
He thinks $1,600 would be fair.

Overhauled brakes on my 98 Z3 roadster (@108.5K miles) with EBC rotors (have had since 06/2018), Rebuilt ATE calipers by Powerstop, and Wagner Thermoquiet ceramic pads that I had been hoarding since 2015 for my 2000 328Ci; both cars take same pads. Replaced brake fluid with ATE Type 200 DOT 4 fluid. Went without a glitch and brakes work well.

Watching that loser from baitcar on YT... You'd think he'd have his license, registration, and insurance ready and check that his license plate light wasn't out.

But he is funny....he tells the cop to keep his hands where he can see them... 😆

Not only have I heard of those, I'm getting ready to take Mom's 2002 Grand Marquis out for a run to Menards to break in my replacement credit card. The car has about 100,000 miles less than the Crown Vic though.

And I have to throw in the running joke that "Click and Clack" used to use - it's a Grand Marquis but it's not the special "de Sade" edition.
