What are you doing right now?

Taking a break from some yard work which I don’t often get to other than mowing.

Rather than encourage me my wife took the opportunity to point out my deficiencies in this area. Gotta love women. 🤦

I just saw my brother off who recently moved to Montana and was back for a few days. </sadface> On a happier note, he got his motor home out of my driveway and he took a bunch of his stuff with him that's been in my shed for a while. He also let me pawn off a bunch of hand tools on him, too.

I mowed banks....
Getting to be too much anymore
Around here you look like you just got out of the pool after about 20 minutes

Hopefully the mist from the falls doesn’t reach the parking lot where my Corvette is sitting. The last two times I have brought it the mist made it there and it leaves very very hard water spots on it because of all of the limestone and other minerals in that water. Drives me crazy 😵‍💫
Water proof car cover.

Just left Lowe’s cleaned out the 99 cent sockets that they are closing out. And then went to Sonic and got drinks. Dad has the app for all day happy hour. We ordered two drinks ended up with 5 because someone canceled their order so they are like you want a free peach slushy and 2 free Dr. Pepper. We said sure and found a homeless person so gave them one and kept the other. They were very appreciative.

Wife showed me a video of “what R2D2 was really saying. Needless to say, can’t post here (I mean, come on, they literally beeped out everything the droid said in the movie!).

Wife reminded me that the septic tank needs risers. I should watch some videos on how to install, but I’m wondering if I’d rather pass the buck and have the septic service “do it right the first time”. Not cheap but wondering if, well, it’d be done properly. As opposed to what I’m capable of doing…

Meant to get out for a bike ride earlier, now it’s hot and very sunny. But if I wait, smoke from the Canada wildfires will get worse, so perhaps I should get out sooner than later. Really wish I could take my bike to a shady rail trail… next vehicle has to be able to move a bike! and a small trailer, sheesh. Now I see that the breeze is picking up, should have gone earlier I guess.

Packing the car trunk with all the crap you need to travel, air compressor, 3 desktop computers to give away, clothes and even a half quart of Amsoil Euro 0w30 top off oil. A target pistol to pass the time..

Where are you going chief?
Don't you remember? Florida....Palm Coast.... house builder touring

Finishing up a tough morning. Eighteen years ago, when I retired, we had a kitten adopt us. Just the wife and I at home. This was the start of the "empty nest." Son's had married and moved on starting their lives. So, The tiny (barley year old cat) dropped a litter of (4) babies. We gave all away but one. So, we been caring for a providing two of them with a very good life. Pet door to go in and out of garage (not allowed in house). Somehow. Wife promptly comes home from church and runs over one of them around 0930am. Definitely broken back and she was suffering bad. crying and trying to crawl. I called all over and no vets open on Sunday. Not even county animal shelter.
I could not allow the poor thing to suffer. She was actually looking like going into shock. I had no choice. Put her comfortable in a box with some towels. Took her out to the woods and I had to put her out of her pain n misery. I have had to do the same thing to a cat many years ago that got caught up in my dads truck engine. That time it did not affect me at all. This one has been my sidekick since 2008. I had no idea and often rolled my eyes when I heard of people being so affected losing a pet. Now I get it. Of course many of them did not have to do what I had to do about an hour ago. I tried best I could after making her comfortable. I put a 9mm round in the back of her head and buried her in some woods near home. It is just strange. I got up , fed them this am. Now we are down to one left. It all happened so fast. Now the toughest part is to stop the wife from being miserable and feeling ever so guilty. Accidents happen.
