What are you doing right now?

I’m eating and reading about the 8 places I have picked for vacation. Will have to narrow it down but I’m just not sure. I need to hurry up and make up my mind though lol. I’m a history nerd so I want to visit these places: Mount Vernon (George Washington home) Monticello (Thomas Jefferson home) been there twice before but I was younger and didn’t really pay attention lol. And they give you $2 bills as change so of course I want to go there for that lol. And the last place in the top three category is The Bureau of Engraving and Printing which prints all the U.S paper money. The other two contenders are James Madison’s home and James Monroe home. I’d like to visit all these places but that would cost too much lol. I’m just a history nerd and money nerd lol. These are historically important things that I feel are important to know about. Today I met someone who had never heard of Mount Vernon or Monticello I was shocked. I can understand the rest but we learn about the first two in school. So yeah I have to decide on one or two of these plates. It’s a hard choice. Maybe I can do a couple this year then a couple next.
Will you work on expanding your culinary horizon? 🍽️

Just heard a story from one of my co-workers.. someone was driving in a red SUV, driving, dog out of a part open window... dog let the window down, on accident with paw, and jumped out of the SUV in a busy intersection. Thankfully, the dog was alright, my coworker stopped and got the dog and put the dog in his car.. the lady was reunited shortly after she realized the dog jumped out.... co-worker said 1. The cars have the child-proof window lock (window won't work... this is true) and 2. LEASH!!!

About to start working.

Picked up a used Swisher 44" rough cut mower yesterday. Today I gave her an oil change and away we went. Tested her out and it runs like a top. Its a single Briggs powered unit but cuts and hauls along great.

As the movie theatres open around 11a.m. all across the country.. I will probably go see Top Gun: Maverick after work.

If getting my tires changed doesnt take every last dollar I have.

I’m eating some seafood which I don’t really care for but mom wanted seafood for some reason. I wanted Chinese. I had the buffet today for lunch with a friend and it was delicious I was looking forward to the other Chinese for dinner. Oh well guess if we have time tomorrow once we get back from the Hillsville Flea Market that we will eat there hopefully. Also I’m on eBay and Craigslist and marketplace looking for a good wrench set. I want to upgrade mine so I’m looking. But I’ll wait till tomorrow to purchase one as I’ll see what I can find at the flea market.

Leaving the Hillsville Memorial Day Flea Market. It was great. Found lots of tools and license plates and spent lots of $2 bills. There was some good lemonade and kettle corn too I ate an entire bag and had to buy my parents another one lol 😂. Now we have to find something to eat.

Got the garden tilled at the new place. Perhaps tomorrow I will hit the greenhouse to bomb up on seeds and a couple tomato plants.

In the midst of a garbage work schedule and a pile of work stres, so this is what a guy needs. My oldest has been seconded to help plant and weed this season.

We haven't let go of our other acreage yet so I am really tempted to try and pull off two gardens......

Need to vac the CRV, its full of sawdust after a bandsaw impulse buy. Need to massage back after pulling a muscle picking up said purchase. Need to mow the yard. Might get a bicycle ride in. Trying to decide if I want to take advantage of HF coupon and get a new 4x8 trailer, would wait until tomorrow I think. Contemplating what car to get next, but stuck waiting for one to be either totaled or repaired, but still looking all the same. Need to go do dishes after making breakfast. Should go back to cleaning my office, put up some shelves but am still arranging things, trying to figure out best use.

But right now I am enjoying my new to me Laz E Boy recliner, another impulse buy from yesterday. Going to get another cup of coffee and stare at my yard and what looks like the start of a nice day outside.

We got a triple header... I'm drinking a Modelo (and I don't usually drink but this IS Memorial Day weekend. I personally prefer it to Labor Day, and THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE all Veterans!) and on the computer, doing a course and messaging people on the phone. I'll be doing this until about 10p.m. It's not even really hot today. Today is a great day.

We don’t thank Veterans on Memorial Day!

Ahhhh, yes. Thank you for that. Must be the beer talking.

It took me a few seconds but now I do indeed see what you mean.

Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States for mourning the U.S. military personnel who have died while serving in the United States armed forces. It is observed on the last Monday of May. It was formerly observed on May 30 from 1868 to 1970.
