Yeah. Falls can cause a lot of hurt we normally would not expect. The concussion I had took a good 4-5 months to completely go away.I’m 48 but recently had a sobering experience with a fall. I walked into the living room and smashed my foot into the corner of a chair. That made me jump and a laundry basket was placed just right such that I fell over it and went down hard.
It happened so fast I was unable to get my arms up to protect myself in any way. I’m still in decent shape with ok reflexes so didn’t think I was vulnerable to such a fall but it’s clear it can happen to anyone, given the right circumstances. Also, let’s not kid ourselves, I’m not what I was, physically, 20 years ago.
On another note, I used to do IT Support work and often did house calls for elderly folks (80’s and even older). I had repeat customers I knew well and a number of them sustained concussions. Often, they would say they were better but I found it could be a year or two before they were actually recovered. This went for younger folks too. My point is, take it easy and take care of yourself![]()
Mostly was headaches every evening in the very spot my head had hit the floor along with waves of nausea. I think I am over it now.
