What are you doing right now?

Just left the basketball game. We led up until the end then went to overtime for the tie and then blew the game.

I’m also figuring out when all my cards are due this month too. One of them do before payday so have to get on that one asap. My advice to anyone who will listen is don’t sign up for 6 or 7 credit cards and not be able to pay them back because I struggle to pay them back sometimes and interest is killing me. My total limit is $6,200. At least one is only 3% interest through my credit union who also financed my car, the rest are in the 20%s and 30%s. I wanted to consolidate to one payment but the only loans I can get approved for either need a cosigner or are very predatory and want over 100% interest. I make good money but time you pay all your bills that money slowly fades away.

More unsolicited advice. You need to be paying extra on the cards not the new car. Divide and conquer. First stop using them, then target the one with the lowest balance and pay it off. Then apply what were paying on the now paid off one to the next one and so on.

Sounds like a wife out of control with credit cards, lol. But Nobody to cut them all up but one card. Over 100% interest … are those credit cards issued by the Mob? 😄

Haha. I mean the loan is over 100% interest and short term so it would kill me to pay it back too lol. 2026 is the year I need to do good with my finances. Had honestly considered selling the Beetle as much as I don’t want too I just don’t have time or motivation to work on it. But until I get really desperate I won’t sell it. Right now doing DoorDash to make it.

Out doing late night DoorDash orders. It’s booming lol. Mostly 7-11, Speedway, iHOP and Taco Bell. Me and dad are both doing it tonight. When I talked to him last he was at $13 and I was at $28 now I’m at $56 and I don’t know what he is at. The pros of being off tomorrow lol. Fun fact dad was one of the first 10 people in our town to sign up for DoorDash when it became available in our town but he never did it for a few years because he got disgusted when he saw someone take a drink out of someone’s drink at Chipotle.

Heating up the garage, it's 38F at the moment and the timing chain guide showed up, so I should slap that in. Maybe I should drive the CRV around the block, put a bit heat into it? it was 21F outside, where it's parked, last I looked.

Just dawned on me: perhaps I can rewire my generator transfer switch. They only gave me 6 breakers, but two are tied up on the well pump... that I can't run as my invertor doesn't have 240V output. All the other breakers make sense, but it'd be nice to have a couple other circuits so as to bring up WiFi and otherwise be comfortable. Really, more breakers would have been nice...

Which is why we never have and never will use a delivery service.
Agreed. I’ll happily do the deliveries but I don’t want anyone else delivering my food. Not to mention the ridiculous price they ask too. I had a $5 off coupon once that I was going to use and the food was still going to be over $40 with the delivery and tip and I said nope I’ll go pick it up for that.

Just got me a drink at the gas station. Went to the credit union earlier because my card had cracked so had to get a replacement card. It’s cool that they can make them on the spot now. I had a good day off for the long weekend except mom won’t stop talking about cars. She wanted to go back today and try it with a different salesman and we had to explain to her that’s not how that works. Then I told her please don’t do that as I’m already embarrassed enough about how she acted yesterday. She then said she’s going to try for a Dodge Hornet and I think that’s going to be a nightmare too. She’s like I just have to get something newer because it’s killing me. She sounds like my friends dad who went out and bought a brand new $85,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee when I got my RAV4 because his truck at the time was older than my RAV4 and it was killing him and now he can’t afford the $1200 a month payments on it so he’s most likely going to have it repoed.

Got to use the awd and winter tires for real today. Launching this in the snow is fun while seeing everyone else crawl around.

Got done with the CRV. Replaced a broken chain guide and attempted to adjust the valves. I think I did ok... but it seems clattery now. All were tight but of course, once into it, I realized that my feeler gauges only go down to 0.01"/0.254mm. I did have 0.012"/0.305mm so I ran intake and exhaust but I think it's just off. I could use better feelers and then the special combo tool for adjusting. Not 100% sure I want to buy, 'cuz just how long will I have this vehicle?

But maybe I'll finally replace the cam. I measured 0.54mm of wear. It's like a race cam, but in reverse.
