Absolutely. She needs to get the feel first. Wanted just bit shorter, but they didn’t have anything 2-5cm shorter. Everything was 10+cm shorter.

Just chilling now. Waiting on that winter storm to hit tonight luckily we already got groceries before they were all gone completely. I’m sure we will go places before it comes. I know one thing if it’s ice I’m not going to work tomorrow.
Realizing my iPad is now “old”. Gets hot trying to look at LinkedIn; I suspect that the site trying to load junk in the background? seems to defeat the purpose of casually surfing social media, by requiring a device to have high firepower.
Looking at CL for a cheap laptop. But it looks like ebay might be cheaper, and not involve driving.
Wondering what to have for breakfast, but at this point its brunch. Need to ease into a low fiber diet for the week and nothing is interesting.
Kicking myself for not doing enough tire rotations on our CRV—one tire has heavy shoulder wear and will need replacing. I wonder if the kids are taking hard left turns, or if the poor car is just worn out. Can’t complain, tires are at 30k, so just under our typical replacement schedule.

Light clean up snow plowing the drive, pushing the drifted snow back out of the way with JD LX188 & 42” blade. 19 degrees out wind chill feels like 8 though. Plugged the truck in on a timer for tomorrow’s start up.

I’m watching the movie “Man of the Year” on DVD. And me and all my coworkers have been texting and we are waiting on the text to say we are closed tomorrow lol. None of us can get out because of ice so we are all going to call in if we don’t hear anything by morning. They never treated the roads which I find kind of strange. Also the snow on top of the ice doesn’t help either. I busted my tail walking the dog lol. And a car spun out in our neighborhood and is down in a ditch so yeah I’m not risking it to go to work tomorrow and everyone I know in the area is off tomorrow for weather. Let’s hope I hear something so I don’t have to use PTO lol.

I’m chilling and getting ready to watch a movie after breakfast. My work opened at 10am today but I wasn’t able to get out. 2 people are there and said they haven’t had a single car so I’m not missing much. I tried to go but my Escape kept rolling back down the hill and would not go on the ice. My boss said he is in the same situation. This freezing rain is supposed to continue until 7pm tonight so hopefully they get the side roads treated and I’ll be able to go tomorrow. Everyone knows I hate to miss work as much as I enjoy missing it lol. I don’t like to work and I like being there because it gives me something to do but that’s ok can’t go if it’s unsafe. My friend wrecked his Jeep last night going to work. The only thing his boss said was sorry you wrecked but we don’t close because we are a factory with grown adults not a school. I was like if I heard something like that I’d be looking for another job.
As the cold breaks, it warmed up to -18c before the windchill. A good friend came by and we took out the vintage sleds. Put on a pile of trouble free miles out on the trails and fields. Came across a cow moose and two large calves. These buggers have been milling about the property for a while. We came across them yesterday on the trails.
Anyways, had a great time. My friend loves those old sleds and had to show off to his buddies.

I once used cable chains when the roads were literally a sheet of ice, and got around pretty good actually.

Right now looking at potential baseball cities on me and dads list that we have agreed too. Thinking heavily about Detroit at the current moment. That way we can do baseball and see the Henry Ford museum as well. I told him if possible I want to go to a state I’ve never been too before and I’ve never been to Michigan. I want to go to Miami but that’s 900 miles away versus around 500 for Detroit. Mom isn’t sure she can get off work for too long though so I told her she better make sure she can cause I’ll be angry if not. They are trying to get me to go on a plane so we can go out west but I don’t think I’m ready for that yet. I don’t trust air travel.
Just ordered some 4 ft 1x8" Cherry and oak lumber online to make some shelves. I'm going to laminate these with hemlock on the center to make some thick hefty floating display shelves for the living room.

Won’t catch me on a plane lol. I guess it would be better to hit solid ground instead of water though if flying domestic. I just don’t trust air travel. And I want to go thru Georgia too since I’ve never been to Georgia.

The odds of getting into a car accident are so much greater than that of being in a plane crash.
The odds of getting into a fight with my wife on the way to the airport are infinitely higher than going just about anywhere else, LOL.

Just left the laundromat. Dad said we might be Miami bound for the summer lol. He wants to go somewhere really warm. That’s definitely the place. Tampa Bay too. I don’t know for sure though always takes forever to make up his mind. I was looking and man hotels in big cities are expensive lol. I’m doing a 70%,20%,10% savings plan starting with this paycheck I save 20% spend 70% on bills and other things due and spend 10% on wants. Any extra from wants goes either in savings or to credit cards. With that it should add up rather quickly plus what I already have saved. I’m not going to let them talk me out of a hotel this year. I’ll tell them like it is, if I’m paying we are doing fast food and takeout Chinese only and hotel only.

You’re better off doing that trip at this time of year. Miami in the winter is so much nicer than Miami in the summer. In the summer it’s 90 degrees and super humid and you get a thunderstorm every afternoon. This time of year it’s not as rainy and the temperatures are usually around 75 every day.
