I am running Ubuntu 10.10 with FF.

Sometimes i notice that certain parts of web pages (different ones) do not show up correctly - text or boxes/borders misaligned and cut off somehow:
Here's an example pic: Notice the price is on top of other areas, and other parts are cut off at the bottom...(where it says "view warranty" and "Download brochure")

what can be causing this? Any ideas?
Thanks IA.

Thanks - But I was looking for input on how to fix the problem in FF. I can use Chrome, but that doesn't fix the FF problem. and I prefer FF in general (due to a lot of other reasons, one being chrome still can't open a new tab from bookmarks tool bar with a single click)

Do you AdBlock or NoScript or anything like that? Sometimes when those types of addons (that block content) "collapse" the areas where the blocked element would have been, they throw off the layout of some pages.

Perhaps she has a more complete selection of fonts installed.

If you don't mind posting the link, I can check it in OpenSUSE.

Just checked in my Ubuntu x64 10.10 it looks perfectly normal.

Some things that might be contributing factors are that mine is completely updated, has the latest beta x64 "Square" flash player for linux from adobe, and has the latest version of Java installed (6u23 I think). The only extra fonts I have are those that come from the Wine package. The only add ons I have on this FF install are Ad Block Plus ad Ubuntu Firefox Modifications (0.9RC2)

Some stuff that I doubt is affecting it, but may be:
I have the Medibuntu repositories added and all that stuff installed. I have the ubuntu-restricted-extras package installed. I have the good, bad and ugly gstreamer packages installed. Restricted extras might have something you need, but I don't know to what extent that will have an effect on page rendering.

Thanks for checking it, guys.

I really don't know what I can do to prevent it - it's not well documented either...I looked around on the web...
perhaps I should do a more extensive search on ubuntu forums...

FWIW, I have the same problem with some sites in Ubuntu 10.10, regardless of whether I'm using Chrome or FF. It's something I've just learned to live with. If I really need an affected site to display perfectly, I just switch to Windows or use the Mac.

Yeah it's not a big deal, it only happens in a very few select sites...just mildly annoying...
With me, it's just FF. Chrome renders the same page(s) fine..

I have noticed a lot of problems in the last few weeks with FF on the latest lucid larry or whatever release they call it. So I installed chrome and not a single burp so far. coincidence? I might delete then rebuild the package for FF but in the meantime...
