More Fram drama: Fram TG6607 used for 3000 miles in a 2002 Subaru Outback 2.5L w/ 344k miles and Supertech conventional 5w30. A41651 date code = June 13 2024. What do you think happened to the end cap?

Looks like the end cap wasn't glued very well, and the way it's bent over looks like it was caused by oil flow heading to and going through the bypass valve.

Filter looks pretty loaded up, and with a filter that small and loaded on a Subaru with high flow oil pump it's a bad combo causing too much dP and excessive bypass.

2:49 The end cap looks solid if you're going to look at it closely and 3:30 he forced the end cap out. So the filter is good.

I looked at it closely at 2:49 and 3:30. At 2:49, I wouldn’t call it solid in any way, but to each his own vision.
Oil flow at work seems to me. This is when people over use their oil and filter. Does the larger filter size for this have larger openings? If the media clogs, it clogs later that’s all I can see different. The bypass hole would be the same size with a larger tough guard. Most of the time the filter is sent away and none of this is seen.

Poor gluing job in that area along with somewhat spaced media in a few spots. For only 3k on a "15,000" mile rated filter I doubt the size mattered much. We're not talking about a cartridge filter where that would pose an issue. This is a canned spin on so the size is already incorporated into the can.

I was thinking about cardboard and water. I wonder if there was some water in the oil? As water softens cardboard and blocks filters...

I’m running out of “go to” filters - maybe go to remote since I have 6 OG XP’s that are not direct fits LoL …
