More Fram drama: Fram TG6607 used for 3000 miles in a 2002 Subaru Outback 2.5L w/ 344k miles and Supertech conventional 5w30. A41651 date code = June 13 2024. What do you think happened to the end cap?
That filter is way too small for that Subaru! It's supposed to use a 9688-size filter
or installing the wrong filter could have caused it too...Could have happened or been an oversight during production not necessarily during use.
I looked at it closely at 2:49 and 3:30. At 2:49, I wouldn’t call it solid in any way, but to each his own vision.2:49 The end cap looks solid if you're going to look at it closely and 3:30 he forced the end cap out. So the filter is good.
Or being conventional oilIt’s the Supetech oil! It’s terrible.
The end caps are not cardboard long time myth. It’s a proprietary material/impregnated resin.I was thinking about cardboard and water. I wonder if there was some water in the oil? As water softens cardboard and blocks filters...
