And what car is this?I thought he said he needed W 502 00/505 00? And then he mentions a BMW approval… and then worried about an API license….
I’m confused.

Yup I am! I paid for SP I'm getting SP. Might not matter to you but it matters to meSo you’re returning one oil with VW 502 00 approval for another one with VW 502 00 approval.
That would have to be it.Yup I am! I paid for SP I'm getting SP. Might not matter to you but it matters to me![]()
Your car requires 502/505 not SP, I'd keep it and gladly run it, will make Zero difference if it is SP. You do you but sounds like your mind was made up already at your 1st post.Yup I am! I paid for SP I'm getting SP. Might not matter to you but it matters to me![]()
Well, you supposed to be clear you want least demanding specification listed there.Yup I am! I paid for SP I'm getting SP. Might not matter to you but it matters to me![]()
The latest SP Valvoline Euro is least demanding than their SN version? SP covers SN so?Well, you supposed to be clear you want least demanding specification listed there.
Absolutely irrelevant in his application, and all those approvals are far more stringent than API SP, SN+, SN, or whatever. The latest SP Valvoline Euro is least demanding than their SN version? SP covers SN so?
Agree.I would rather have the SN.
European approvals have timing chain tests. He is fine with SN.I forgot to add that some scientific study showed the beneficial effects of Moly on timing-chain wear. The SP oils are supposed to provide better protection against timing chain wear. If your VW/Audi has a chain, that would be relevant. .
But two and get free shipping.Ok so I am just going to return it and pick up a 5qt elsewhere. The cost of the oil plus shipping was the same cost as just buying it at a Napa or O'reilly's. At least there I can look at it before I buy it.
