Walmart Oil Change Service: "Restore and Protect"

Probably best answered by the folks at WM. The WM closest to me advertises using Castrol oil, FWIW.

The Wally stores near me have several advertisements throughout the store suggesting an "upgrade" to Restore and Protect, with a Valvoline logo. Their "featured" oil is Valvoline, with various signs around the shop, but at last glance, they also had Castrol and Pennzoil products in ecoboxes.

Have also seen similar advertisements from Goodyear stores on Facebook... so it seems like VVV is pushing trying to push it for use in service centers. Wonder if it is being distributed in Ecoboxes.

I've had at least my last 3 changes done at walmart. always just say I need "full synthetic"
from memory i've gotten
Valvoline, Pennzoil, and Most recently Mobil 1.
I'm always secretly hoping for the Castrol, for the simple fact, the Elderly folks who owned the car before me ( I'm the 3rd owner) have hand scrawled in the owner's manual "Best Oil - Castrol 5w30" ( by the carfax, it looks like they took it to the local Midas in their town for all the services)
This 2013 Hybrid Calls for 5w20, starting in MY2014 same engine changed to 0w20.

:sneaky:(y)

Is "Restore and Protect" a trademark?

Otherwise, Wal-Mart can argue they "Restore & Protect" by not using dino. lol

This Valvoline Restore and Protect sure does sound like a miracle oil!!!! I'm going to pour it into one of my engines to see if it can put the connecting rod back in the block!
You joke but it does have some impressive rating and reviews on Amazon, I think it's at 4.8 with thousands of purchases. And it's been available less than a year.
