I asked Valvoline if they were going to make euro version of Valvoline Restore and Protect, this is what they said.
Restore & Protect has only been tested and approved for API SQ and ILSAC GF-7A requirements for gasoline engines. It has not been formulated nor tested to meet ACEA specifications or European vehicle OEM approvals for European gasoline or diesel engines.
We will forward your inquiry to our marketing team for future product consideration.
Maybe if enough people ask for a euro version, they will?

They sort of already do, minus the approvals. I think they don't want to disclose formulation secrets or, there may be something off that (such as too high of xyz additive etc.) that prevents them from getting official approval.
Knowing Valvoline has an extensive test lab and their director worked at Infineum, I'd be ok taking their recommendations.

These are questions I have… During the “restore” phase, what exactly happens and are any contaminates loosened and pumped across wear surfaces? Then does the “protect” phase keep the wear surfaces from scratches etc. from the loose contaminates that would otherwise have set harmless in the recessed areas for the life of the engine? If the additive package is so strong that it does loosen contamination from these areas, how does it react on crankshaft seals etc. Edit: dwcoopless will point out any misspellings, vocabulary mistakes, and anything that he determines is incorrect. It works by chemically dissolving carbon. It cleans and protects at same time. No issue. They know this because they tested it in actual engines for close to 1 million miles before releasing it.

Where do they go from here? Hopefully, they go up in grade. It would be hard to contain myself if I saw Valvoline Restore and Protect
in 5W/0W-40.

That only appears to be in Europe, as I pulled up Germany and they have it in that country’s documents from Valvoline. Notice that 5w-40 jugs says 5 liter jug vs USA at least 5 qt jug. There is no 5w-40 documents for any country in North America.
