What can Valvoline do to top Restore and Protect?

It has not been formulated nor tested to meet ACEA specifications or European vehicle OEM approvals for European gasoline or diesel engines.

We will forward your inquiry to our marketing team for future product consideration
My interpretation of the last statement implies it’s all marketing. I would think the statement should say, to be forwarded to the product development team.

They are already making and selling Valvoline Restore and Protect Euro oils elsewhere. They will come to the US in time.
Valvoline Restore and Protect has only been tested and approved for API SQ and ILSAC GF-7A requirements for gasoline engines. It has not been formulated nor tested to meet ACEA specifications or European vehicle OEM approvals for European gasoline or diesel engines.

They have lots of weights to fill in, -40, -16, -8
Valvoline Restore and Protect gear oil.
Valvoline Restore and Protect grease
Valvoline Restore and Protect antifreeze
Valvoline Restore and Protect motorcycle products
They do have innovations in motor oil, but they are primarily a brand marketing company.

Valvoline Restore and Protect Retirement Fund. Restores the retirement funds to what they should be if you wisely invested when young and Protects them from losses!

Valvoline Restore and Protect Angioplasty. I mean this one is self explanatory.

Valvoline Restore and Protect Cataract Repair. so much simpler than laser surgery and has that sweet Valvoline Restore and Protect smell. Probably lubes the eyelids perfectly too!

If and when this 5W-40 oil comes here, it will be like when the Beatles came here in 1964, at least for us on this forum. If they bring there 10W-40 it will be like the Rolling Stones coming here!
lol yes. The ultimate oil. Final boss.

Only caveat is that so far, it's only "recommended for" and not actual approvals.

One thing Valvoline could do is sell an additional product named "Valvoline Protect" which contains the exact same oil for the exact same price.

There seems to be a segment of the population that will not use Valvoline Restore and Protect because they "don't need the Restore" and can't see that it also "Protects" so they'll sell a bunch to this lot!

Forget about the approvals, realize that if these approvals really worked, why are certain people on other forums with European Cars that spec 5W-40 are getting results with Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W-30. This recommended and you have to use this weight oil and it has to meet this spec is a joke. It seems to me that this so-called recommended stuff is not in the best interests of us on this Forum, everyone else does not care. There are certain 5W-40 oil's that are good and other that are junk. All of the people that have European cars with the issues, what oil were they using, it was not Mobil 1 or Amsoil?

This has been discussed a lot.

Biggest culprit is some Audi engines from a few years, and those had design issues, but you are correct, even with the design issues, they have stopped burning oil with Valvoline Restore and Protect. However, the issues mainly affected those who ran Castrol 5W-40 from the dealer at 10k intervals, which was a mediocre oil at best, and it didn't even have MB 229.5 at the time. It has since gotten that approval. Enthusiasts who ran Castrol Euro Edge 0W-30 for example (or other higher quality oils) didn't have issues.

We don't have enough data yet to see how they will fare long term on non-approved oil (Valvoline Restore and Protect), but it will be interesting to see. Might see Vanos issues pop up for example.

I’d bet Valvoline Restore and Protect in non severe service and 5k oci’s in a euro engine would be just fine. Problem is finding someone to test my theory….

What kind of test are you looking for? I just put Valvoline Restore and Protect in our 2010 Tiguan that's had diet of mostly Castrol it's whole life.
