After 5 years of reliable performance with the EverStart MAXX, it's finally failing the battery test (12.55V and 567CCA instead of rated 800CCA). Battery was manufactured by Johnson Control, but everything at my local Walmart (Portland, OR) is now manufactured in S.Korea by DN Automotive.
Know nothing about that company, have to decide if I want to try another EverLast MAXX ($129 with 3 year warranty) or purchase a Duracell Ultra Gold flooded ($177 also with 3 year warranty) manufactured by East Penn. The Walmart battery is almost $50 cheaper, and there are more Walmarts (if I need to replace) than the Battery Plus Store which sells the Duracell. Makes most sense to go with the WM EverStart MAXX again.
EverStart also has a Platinum AGM with 4 year warranty which would cost me $169, also made my that mystery S Korean company. Decisions decisions...
