Walmart discontinues Anco wipers?

Just noticed it maybe the last couple of weeks. I saw a boatload of Anco blades stuffed in a pile at at least a couple of different stores, with all tags gone. The replacements in the same space are SuperTech blades that look to be the same. They look identical, are labelled as assembled in Mexico, and list that they're manufactured by Federal-Mogul. I bought a set for my wife's car, and when I pulled out the old one, they looked absolutely identical with the exception that there was no "Anco" name stamped into the frame.

Probably struck a contract up to label them as the store brand instead, hope they clearance the wipers I could use a set or two for other cars.

Walmart around here has the Anco on clearance. I believe they are getting replaced with a "private" walmart label wiper brand.

Michelin blade packaging clearly say it's made for Pylon in China using a license from Michelin. I remember when Pylon used to be super cheap and performed as well as Ancos. They also had two refills for the same price as a single blade. I'd just use pliers to remove the clip and insert them into a standard frame from Anco or Pylon.

What happened to Walmart's "Made in America" campaign?

I will never understand why we gave up our manufacturing base.

I'm thinking Walmart wants to separate itself from ordinary parts stores by selling only home brand products.This would keep people from returning parts store Anco blades to Walmart without reciepts too.

I just replaced some Anco wiper blades with some Michelin ones and when I compared them, they looked identical.
