Waiting on the Carfax on this salvage 2008 towncar

Pixel particulars rendered each body gap buzzy...but otherwise the car looks good from here.
My res is so low, apparently, that I couldn't see hail dimples.

This one has the "Taurus" transmission, not the 4R70W, right?

Is Carfax trustworthy?
1) Specifically, do they make up service entries?
2) I've seen items like 'brake fluid changes' and 'brake pads/rotors changed' entries repeated way too early.

Comments from the gallery, please.

And......Let's Go Mets!
It’s a Panther platform, so this is basically a luxury Crown Victoria/Grand Marquis. It uses the 4R70 transmission. The Continental is the Taurus based Lincoln.

It should be a reliable, easy to fix car that will last a long, long time.

More than the one above but this is a beauty with only 31k miles

Great find, thanks for posting. Like everything about it , with the exception of the color and more importantly, potential exposure to salt.

That is one concern with cars in the upper Midwest and Northeast. Even with very low mileage, one trip on a salt filled road can mean salt in the undercarriage with no opportunity to be washed out.

Good point!

I'm almost close enough to GON now I could be his next Cletus mekanik dealing with engine fire damage. Alas, this one looks to not need such attention. Bummer :D

GON if you ever want witless banter, mouth breathing and blank stares I'm just N of the state line ;)

@D60 , thanks!. I fueled up in Cortez about 4pm yesterday. You have some very unique rock formations in your area....
